IRON MAN: SPOILERS!!!!
Hey people.
I just watched the movie last night, and here're a few spoilers....
SPOILERS AHEAD!
1. Stark's kidnapping and being held hostage wasn't an accident. It was planned by a certain guy who eventually also builds his own armor... (no prizes to whoever guesses this.)
2. Stark reveals to the public after his escape that he would like to stop manufacturing weapons.
3. Rhodey is let in on Stark's "secret identity", and shows an interest in the MkII armor.
4. The MkIII suit has more hidden weapons than just the palm repulsors and the arm missile launchers.
5. Stark almost dies (after his escape, that is)!!!
6. SHIELD agents appear in the film.
7. WAIT TILL AFTER THE FULL CREDITS! A particular interesting scene wasn't cancelled after all, it was just shifted way back.

Yeah I watched it last night too and waited until after the credits but didn't see the scene you're talking about could you pm me with an overview of what happens.
Also did you notice that Starks ring tone on his phone is the old animated Ironman theme?

Get to go to a special pre-screening or something? I'm going tonight - thanks for tipping me in for the end-of-credits scene! I love those!

Re: IRON MAN: SPOILERS!!!!

I love this movie! Most definitely lived up to its awesome trailer!
-I forgot who said it but I love the Robocop and Rocketeer feel.
-On a related note, I love the ED-209 moment with Iron Mongul.
-I totally didn't get "Strategic Homeland Intervention Espionage Logistics Directorate" until the last moments of the movie. Too many syllables for me!
-Whenever Jon Favreau was on screen, I expected someone in the movie/audience to scream "That's money!"
-It has one of the most kick ass credits sequence ever.
-At the credits, I nearly crapped my pants seeing Tom Morello. Me and another dude a few seats back geeked out. People were like "Who's Tom Morello?" Our reactions were like "WHAT??? Have you not heard of RATM?"
-And Fury? Purely awesome. I've never geeked out so much at a comic book movie in my entire life and I have no idea why. Maybe Mark Millar's depiction of Nick Fury kicked that much ass.
I'll never forget the moment when Fury appeared. We went to a theater that still has curtains that is drawn and pulled when a movie begins and ends. When the seemingly last credits ends, the curtain is drawn. Then the scene happens and it's practically covered. We were like "WTF!!!" because Fury was in shadow and the project was distorted thanks to the curtain. The curtain drew back as soon as Fury stepped into the light.
It was purely an accident but what a unique way to see Fury for the first time.

Who boy, just got back from the midnight showing here in Sacramento. First time I got to see a movie Pre Opening Night since Transformers last year. I'll admit it I had my doubts on whether or not Marvel could actually make this movie the high caliber we have come to expect from the comic series. And they did not disappoint. Now I won't toss around spoilers as they have already been done, but my favorite part of the movie is just after Stark's rescued... You'll know it when ya see it.

Been debating back and forth between what is my favorite superhero between Spider-Man and Iron Man. This movie confirms it is Iron Man. Spiderman movies were great and all, but theis one takes top of the list for me best comic book movies. Somany possibilities with this franchise.

Re: IRON MAN: SPOILERS!!!!
I got to watch this last night, and I'll admit, I was a bit skeptical about this movie at first. In the end, I was pleasantly surprised. Robert Downey Jr. played the role pretty faithfully, giving the character a feel of quirky humor while still capable of keeping him serious. And the ending sequence was a surprise for me, I kept away from all rumors and spoilers before going to see the movie, I was just told by my friends, who had went to an earlier showing, to stay until after the credits. Pretty awesome. All around, I definately recommend this movie, one of the best Marvel movies in a LONG time.

No spoilers please, but I am going to see it at the weekend, so I would like to know if its any good. Anything I should know to enhace my viewing experience? Any hidden, after-credits scenes? I don't want to know what happens, don't reply in spoilers please. It is being compared to transformers level of detail apparently, but I feel that hard to believe.
I am a very disgruntled Brit.

Hmm I think its a little late for that, the thread kicks off with tons o spoilers. But for the sake of helping out, yes at the very end of the seemingly endless credits there is a small, very small, scene that sets up the sequel to Iron Man. Over all this movie was sickeningly good, so don't get Soda, do not get popcorn, don't get anything that will cause you to miss a single instant of this epic.

Why do my pants feel wet? Weird.
The movie was awesome. Truly it's a new age for Marvel Movies. The Incredible Hulk better not drop this ball.
Though, strangely enough, right before the trailers started, there was an ad for the Death Note movies. Looks like a theater somewhere around here is going to show them.

Pretty darn cool film - the only bit that felt off was right at the end when stark owns up - I prefer the cover of IM being his bodyguard. Mind you it seems that stark never sticks to the notes
I'm pretty surprised that the film got away with being a 12 though.

This movie was pure glory.
While I did miss the usual Marvel extravagant opening credits scene. They did one even better.
I want to go watch it again, at least like 9 more time.
Also, now we just need a Capt. America and Thor movie to come out and we'll be set for the Avengers.

I did notice he did an awful lot of drinking. While he didn't really seem dependent on alcohol, pretty much every drink he had in the movie was alcoholic.
Like they said, next movie: Rock bottom.

Hm, since everyone knows Tony Stark is Ironman, think he could get arrested for a DUI while in the suit?

First went to Burger King for lunch only to find out the IM toys were completely sold out. Unbelievable.
Went at 2:00 today, theater was packed as full as you could possibly get. A lot of cheers and clapping throughout.
The movie itself was masterfully crafted and cast. I can't find one bad thing to say about it. RDJ was at his absolute best here.
Its a bonafide blockbuster for sure, by Friday it had already made $38 million.
AS MANY OTHERS HAVE ALREADY STATED:
STAY UNTIL AFTER THE CREDITS FOR THE TEASER OR YOU WILL BE KICKING YOURSELF LATER!!!

Holy. Mother. of Galactus. That was a hell of a ride. It's everything a good comic book movie should be. Good acting, good action, respect for the source material, and plenty of easter eggs and insider jokes for the fans. Hell, the director himself played Stark's chauffer from the comics, "Happy." My only qualm was how they turned Jarvis into an AI, but it was necessary for the plot.
This definitely makes me want to start buying Iron Man comics. Alas, I don't think I have the funds right now. And I think he's such a dick in the comics right now.
SAM FREAKING JACKSON! Man, I hope they give Nick Fury his own movie.
AVENGERS ASSEMBLE! All we need are movies of Captain America, Thor, (and, unfortunately, Ant Man/Hank Pym) for it to happen. Hmm... you think Marvel has deep enough pockets to have Downey, Jackman, Macguire, and whoever else they need in one film like that?
