New Movie Toys in Stop Motion!! - Starscream Added midflight transformation
used some of the transformers toys in stop motion and they are really quite good (bar ironhide, who is a pain to move around).
Thought I'd share them with you guys
This is from reenacting a scene in the film. In case you're wondering what the original clip was, Its in the link posted right below mine.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RiuwHdZ-4hQ
The exact clip that I'm refering to: (first 20 seconds only)
http://youtube.com/watch?v=nrar1zQ-Wqc
Here is one i did with Ratchet
at 20 frames a second

Probably my first one so far but i decided to experiement with stop motion of something in the air. So decided to make starscream transform mid flight. Do let me know what you guys think though i'm aware its not one of the better ones out there.

Welcome to Seibertron bABA!
Those clips are frikkin' sweet. Very smooth movement compared to some of the other stop motion clips I've seen. That one of Prime transforming is brilliant, you should get some sort of award for that.

Hi
I'm low on the budget right now. I see no point in doing the Brawl enactment until I get a Brawl leaderclass toy cause that deluxe one is really crappy and there is no Voyager one around.
At the moment, I have
Optimus L
Ratchet V
IronHide V
Starscream V
Jazz - That 3.99 one.
I'll do more scenes don't worry as well as spoofs. I'll keep posting them up for you guys here.

bABA,
i'm interested in how you get the figures to support during transformation because I don't see any supporting cables? Or is that a trade secret?

Other than 5 or 6 frames, I used no support. And the support was usually my hand that is not visible as a minute part of the leg is usually not part of the frame.
In the ratchet video, i used my fingers twice while he stood up. In the Prime one, I held his leg barely for 2 frames when there was too much of his weight causing him to fall backwards. Otherwise, I forced both of them to stand by transforming them in a way so the pressure falls equally on the hands, and legs.

Thanks! I'm already in a bit of trouble for all the transformers I've bought suddenly. Now it seems like I'm going to get another hobby that'll irritate the rest of the family while I obsess over it!

Well done! Stop-motion shows up here on occasion, and I'd call this one of the better attempts. I think a confrontation between the Alternators and the movie toys is called for. Or Movie Prime versus Masterpiece Prime. I wish we had a gallery on Seibertron for the best stop-motion clips, or at least a stable link page, becasue some of this stuff really is good. Maybe when Transtopia moves here, something like that can happen?

Awesome. I love stop-motion movies of Transformers.
Here's one I like of Brawl: http://youtube.com/watch?v=1tXRq2LvfDI

For the love of Primus, why must I be a Mississippi State fan?

bABA, you are an awesome person with lots of patience and talent. Hope you someday get paid for making real movies in stop-motion.

It gets choppy towards the end.
This is by far the best transformer stop motion out there. The man used 30 frames a second.

I guess that with one or two frames you won't really see the hand. I was wondering if you maybe used some software to eliminate cables, wireframes, etc.
hEH!
I've been doing this for a year now. Here is my handle on youtube where I've used many different situations to feature transformers other than the ones I've posted here:

You can't imagine the hours spent on paint.
But yea to whoever said its choppy. The truth is ... it is. I'm proud that the responses seem positive for the transformation in mid air. But the video itself is choppy.

I don't even what to know. I have an idea. I'm a graphic designer and do photo manipulation so I know how long it takes for one photo. To work on so many in sequence takes for ever. I do not envy you.

hA!
to be honest, it wasn't that bad as I took short cuts. My fingers are clearly visible in those pictures if they were any larger. And you can definetely tell the distortions in the background : )
