It may look pretty nice but if I had the money for either I would go with the Botcon Scorponok.

Honestly, I would love it if they sold the head separately. Looks like it fits onto the G1 Scorponok toy, and it's actually in scale. I know most people love the BotCon toy and like the Energon mold, but some people like the toy only because there's an actual in-scale Headmaster attached to it. I think I will pass on this, simply because I already own a very nice condition G1 Scorponok, and this would have to be perfect (like Warden was, I guess) for me to purchase it. Now, if PE or any other 3rd party would make a head only that fits G1 Scorpy, that would probably make them a lot of money.

I'm not a fan of the Energon Scorponok figure myself the only time i was tempted to get the mold was when HeadRobots showed off there Black Zarak kit .
PE Death Stalker however if it's that good when finished i could be tempted to double dip for a BZ repaint .

I actually picked up a Dark Scorpinok for HR's set, on the assumption that they would actually make it. It's pretty disappointing they didn't. If they had I might have been more strongly tempted by the Botcon version of Scorpinok.
As it stands BZ had terrific colours. I wouldn't mind a version of this in those colours.

Re: Perfect Effect DEATHSTALKER (Scorponok)
the Warden repaint suggests they might do other characters that shared molds with characters they're made new versions of.
I have Botcon Double Punch, and it's pretty fun. Botcon Scorponok is tons more like what I'd actually wanted the Energon mold repainted as though. But I think this version will probably be cheaper, and better.

Perfect Effects Deathstalker Revealed

Deathstalker by Perfect Effects seems to be an homage to G1 Scorponok! There's a picture of him with Perfect Effects Warden figure for size comparison, so it looks like it's going to be HUGE! And probably well out of my price range!

The big thing for me that may or may not tip the scales is if he transforms into a scorpion. With their Fort Max I didn't mind since his G1 toy essentially transformed by... laying down. With Scorpy, though, he needs that scorpion alt mode for me.
Not caring about scale since 1984. Just like Hasbro.

oh yes, I don't mind if there are treads to make a tank type thing as well (instead of a city, he sort of becomes whatever Energon Scorp was) but he should have a scorpion mode, first and foremost.

That's basically what Energon Scorponok did. I think he was from the construction planet or something? He transformed into a scorpion shaped construction thingy with a crane for a tail/stinger, excavator scoops for claws, scoops in front of his treads, and rear mounted cannons. (No idea how those cannons worked for construction. Demolition maybe? I never could stand the cartoon.) He also turned into a passible space cruiser, which was better than city mode Scorponok flying through the stars in the G1 cartoon.

Yup, he turned into a hybrid of a construction destruction vehicle and scorpion, Energon Scorponok was metal as hell.
I love that mold, but it just keeps breaking on me.

I would like to know if Hasbro has any plans to make a new Scorponok. I am only interested in PE Deathstalker if he has a cool transformation that is neither lying down and fold up legs, nor parts forming like PE Warden.
A 3rd Party made KO heads a couple years ago of all the popular headmasters. I believe Scorponok was one of them. They sold them in packs.

They actually look really good next to each other.
I agree. I've always thought they sized well together. With that said, I wouldn't mind a bigger, more IDW sized, Scorponok.

They look like the same size as the originals.
I was thinking of something larger for G1 Scorponok, so his head would be in scale without it being split into 2 pieces, Zarak and the helmet.

The closeness in scale has made me plump for Botcon. I just like it a bit better. The monkey-armed proportions and new oldskool aesthetic suit the character.

jeez, I know I'm getting old when Energon is described as "oldskool"

Re: Perfect Effect DEATHSTALKER (Scorponok)
Think those TFCC repaints prices are insanely high. I'd rather pay the same insane high prices for a new sculpt 3rd party toy.
Paid $25 for the Energon Scorponok toy in 2003. Don't feel comfortable paying Four times this amount for a Botcon Recolor with a new head. Definately don't want to pay Eight times the USA Retail price to get this toy on the Secondary market.

Still not enough of anything to decide if I like it or not. Need the toy scale and much clearer test shots pics of all the modes. Suspose knowing the price might be nice also.
If I like it, then I'm probably going to wait for the MF Blackzarak colors and retool using this mold.
