Hi everyone,

I have struggled to find a Ratchet G1 that would look good standing next to my Optimus Prime Siege figure which stands at about 17cm.

However all of the ones I’ve found, particularly Masterpiece, are about 21cm so would dwarf Prime and in my opinion look out of place.

Ideally he would be between 13cm (Deluxe) and 17cm (Leader) as long as he’s not taller than Prime.

Does anyone have any suggestions of alternatives that I could go for? Any help would appreciated!

I'd say you should just wait for the Walgreens exclusive retool of Siege Ironhide to come out. I predict it will be officially announced soon.

That is a good question, Jason, but unfortunately the only good G1 Ratchet is the upcoming Siege Ironhide retool, which will be a Walgreens exclusive.

If you don't have a Walgreens near you, or just don't like the Siege Ironhide retool in general, well, you are kinda stuck with a few options

You could try to get your hands on a Unite Warriors Ratchet. Now, there's a few problems with that one. First, it's a Japanese exclusive, meaning you will likely have to import one. Second, he only comes in a box set with other members, so you will probably need to buy him alone somewhere. Another thing is, he is a combiner limb, so he has a kinda forced gimmick, and he doesn't look very G1.

There's also the 2008 Universe Ratchet, but that mold is not a good mold, and is generally hated by the fandom, hence why everyone will probably spring for the Siege version.

Outside G1, there are a few good ones though. Prime Ratchet and Animated Ratchet are both really good, and as close to a G1 Ratchet as you can get (right now, again, Siege)

My advice would be to wait for the Siege version, see how it looks, and decide whether or not you like it

There's also Timelines Ratchet, who even has a sled like the original, but he was a convention exclusive.

I'm hoping the walgreens one turns out nice. I don't really like that mold as Ironhide, but yeah, it's probably the best version (non-MP) of that guy so probably will be for the Doc, too.

I have walgreens all over the place so it shouldn't be terribly hard to find when it comes out. I only had to check two for Brainstorm and i think that's only because the first one I checked (just around the corner from me) seems really crappy in their toy aisle. And I just happened to find Wreck Gar at one way across town after I was over there for some reason, wasn't even really out looking for it. Hey, gotta get lucky sometimes!

Totally agree, the Siege version is probably the best Deluxe Ratchet we ever got. I'm just concerned about OP, and whether or not he has access to a Walgreens to get one. Takara might release one on their own, but that would probably cost more and take more time to get to him.
