The transformers I regret not buying when saw them was
Revenge of the fallen cannon bumblebee because it had a scaled down look of human alliance bumblebee.
Another transformer I regret not buying but saw one time was Hunt of the Decepticons Highbrow. I saw it in one walmart. it was pricey for me, because when I saw it was during the christmas shopping time. So I choosed to use my christmas budget on my family. Family is more important above, everything else. I am holding out that hasbro will reuse the highbrow mold again and repaint it. If they do I will buy it.

I don't understand a lot of the replies in this thread... Half the figures mentioned (or better) can still be purchased for retail price or less off eBay or other sites on the net. Like most of the movie figs...or the Generations figs mentioned that are in stock at HTS right now. Apparently the regret isn't all that high...

In the case of the first, that wouldn't be regret then as it's your full intent not to buy yet. The second, I would think that probably makes up a pretty small percent of the replies here. And if you can't it's one thing...if you simply choose not to, again, the regret must not be all that great.

I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic or if you genuinely don't understand why someone would regret not purchasing a figure when they had the chance. I'm just going to go ahead and assume you're actually confused about people using the word "regret" with regards to buying a figure. To clear things up, you can reasonably "regret" not buying a figure you really want in hindsight when you see that same figure going for insane prices on Ebay.
Case in point, I really regretted not picking up the vast majority of Alternators when they were in stores. I saw them plenty of times, but just didn't think I would like them because of how complicated I heard the transformation process was. However, when my girlfriend saw a lonely Alternator Skids at Walmart and decided to pick it up for me as a gift, I really enjoyed the figure and realized that they were really more for display purposes than anything else. Unfortunately, she bought me this figure as the line was coming to a close so I only managed to snag Ricochet and Rollbar. As a result, I had to scour Ebay for the past few years for reasonable prices on many figures I wanted.
This, in essence, is how a collector can regret NOT picking a figure up. I know the figures weren't essential necessities to my livelihood, but like any hobby, it was something I WANTED. Over the course of 3 years, I could have saved a lot of money and effort if I had picked the figures up while they were in stores. Therefore, I regret not getting them when I had the chance. I didn't break the bank hunting these figures down because I did so in a responsible manner over the course of a few years. Still, it would have been nice to have picked them up all those years ago.

I just bought TRU Rodimus even though I once had Takara's. I promptly sold the
Takara one when I saw they were releasing a revised version. I will still get the newer Takara one for the trailer but will keep Hot Rod because Hasbro did improve the quality of their version. I had not planned this, but after having the TRU version I am happy.

Looking at the figure on Ebay... Damn, this thing is UGLY. And the insane price is just because the thing is rare? Jeez... If I ever find it in store, I will buy them just for evil scalping purpose.
You know, for the money, there's superior figures out there.

The difference between us is that I do like the look of this figure and try to get a full G1 Classicsgenerationsuniverseandsoon cast. It's though and pricey.

Well, obviously. To each their own. But if I would buy a 60$ figure whit a normal price of 10$... I have to REALLY want the thing.
The next TF I want is the complete Optimus Prime from Energon. Everybody agree that it's a kinda sucky toy. And at over 100$, that's a lot of money. But if I can sell enough games, I may give in and get Mr Fatass.

If you're patient, you can get one a lot cheaper. I once had my eye on one and changed my mind about purchasing it (I don't regret it because I was only getting the figure to round out my Energon collection. I didn't really WANT it though). I actually saw it go for 25 dollars on Ebay. I've seen it go for about that price a few other times as well.

I don't want just Fatty Prime. I want the whole Voltron kit. With the trailer and all the limbs-drones. It MAY start at 25$, but it will NEVER end at that price.
Also, that Energon Prime is one big and expensive Power-Core Combiner.

That's the version I'm talking about. Like I said, if you know how to navigate, bid, and be patient on Ebay, you can get it cheap. Hell, I once got Car Robots Prime, Car Robots Magnus, and Cybertron Backstop all in a lot, MISB for 40 bucks shipped. I've gotten a ton of other great deals on Ebay, but you just can't go around pouncing on any Buy It Now auction you see. Type in something like "Transformer Truck" or "Transformer Vehicle" in the search field and just watch what shows up. Tons of great figure auctions where the sellers have no clue what kind of figure they have on their hands. I got a C-9 Swoop figure (only missing the missile launchers) on Ebay for 8 dollars all because the seller had it listed as "Transformer Jet".
Actually, I pretty much completed my G1 Dinobot collection all by typing in "Transformer Jet", "Transformer Dinosaur", and "Transformer Animal" in the search field. I got all of them for extremely cheap prices because the seller didn't know how much it was worth. The only one I actually paid full price for was Slag, and that's because I got impatient and just wanted to complete the set right that moment.

I'd recommend looking on ebay.co.uk I've seen a few on there for around £7. Obviously international shipping would cost more but it might be worth it...

Re: TFs you regret NOT buying
Well I posted something here in the past couple weeks about how I regretted not buying HA Jazz when I had the chance. Was out with the family the other night and as my wife headed for Target I noticed a TJ Maxx next door. I've found some pretty interesting things at some of these second hand retailers so I decided I'd check it out and see what I could find.
Boom- first thing I see: yep, HA Jazz! Down to $17 from $35! I was stoked. They also had HFTD Leader Optimus, two actually for $25 a piece. Not bad if you haven't gotten a hold of a Leader Prime, specifically the ROTF mold.
Anyways I found my HA Jazz and I am happy

At this past BotCon, I had picked up a MISB Beast Wars Telemocha Series Waspeeter (Waspinator) for a great bargain of a price. The guy selling it also had a MISB Telemocha Series Archadis, and after seeing how enthusiastic I was about getting Waspinator, he offered to add in a good deal for Archadis as well.
However, I stupidly turned down his offer because I was not yet interested in the character (or any of the Beast Wars Neo cast) and also knew of the factory error that all Telemocha Series Archadis figures had (in which all of them had a Dinobot spark crystal instead of a Predacon spark crystal).
It didn't hit me until shortly after BotCon why that was dumb of me to decline his offer. not only did I reject another Beast Wars era figure for a great deal, but I had then forgotten that each of the Beast wars Telemocha series figures comes with a bonus DVD that includes a piece of the Beast Wars Diorama Story. In order to get the whole story, I need all of the DVDs and thus all of the figures (Archadis included).
So, yeah, I deliberately turned down a sweet deal and thus missed out on getting another piece of the Beast Wars Diorama Story.

So you're saying you're collecting the TM figures for the DVD's? I may be able to help, because I have TM Archadis (repurposed as Airraptor because of that crystal) and have yet to watch the DVD.
