Titanium Ultra Magnus
I saw a titanium Ultra Magnus at a local small shop today & was wondering if it's worth going back in a few days & getting it. It's price is just a little above that of a deluxe.
I'm a student & as such don't have much money but I've heard good things of this figure. Also, there were three, do you think one'll still be there on Monday, baring in mind I live in a small town & No one really looks for toys in this store.
I'm not going to say what store it is, don't want you lot trying to get your hands on it XD

I would say yes. I got one last weekend and I love it. His vehicle mode wasn't what I was expecting but I once I figured out how to transform him properly I got to like it. His robot mode is just plain awesome IMO.

There are two different 6" Titanium Ultra Mangus figures. The G1 version is hardly seen in the states.

Which Ultra Magnus is it? Actually, it doesn't really matter as both versions are pretty decent.

Damn, it was G1 version XD
I really want to get it now, I'm considering taking £12 out my driving fund & replacing it at the weekend when I get paid, just to get it.

Assuming that it's the G1 version there are a couple of mods that you can do to the figure that (to me at least) really improve it. The first is to swap the left and right thighs so that the legs will bend backwards rather than forwards. The second is to swap the left and right shoulders so that the launchers will attatch the right way up, although this one does mean that there will no longer be any visable faction symbols in bot mode and the symbols that will now be visable in vehicle mode will be the other way on to the one on the cab. Neither mod affects the transformation and all you need is a small screwdriver for the first and your bear hands for the second. Heres how he comes out:

We may say more of him at retail. The stores in my area are just now getting to the Fallen/Cheetor wave, the next wave should be WW Megatron/G1 Magnus, which have been spotted already.
Pay special attention toward the Holidays, alot of TF stuff was preempted because of the Movie release(hence all of the leftover Classics and Cybertron now showing up everywhere), so I'm sure that the Titanium line also took a major backseat to the movie.
As for the figure, yes, get him. He's not perfect, but pretty awesome nonetheless.
And keep in mind that 6in Titaniums are $16 at most retail stores, so to see him at anything less than $20 and a secondary store surprises me.

Sounds like you Europeans might as well buy it from ebay since all your items are almost doubled the price...

I wouldn't switch his shoulders around. That's me though.
It occured to me, that on this incarnation of Magnus, his launchers get situated upside down. That's just how it is.
To me, that's less problematic than the wrongly placed symbols.

Meh, but then you have to pay shipping, & that usually cost more than the item XD besides, it's only more expensive till the exchange rate sorts itself out & we go back to £1=75c (i think), and it actually becomes better to buy in england. Shouldn't take long. Besides, the exchange rate was kind to us during the Beast era, when I did most of my buying... being 7 at the time... so I just see it as paying you lot back.

D'oh...I wasn't paying attention to your location...
Anyway I still recommend that you grab him.

Just looks better to me that way I guess. I was trying to figure out a way to open up the shoulders and swap just the connectors around but can't figure out an easy method for doing that and don't want to break him. To sort out the symbols facing different directions in carrier mode I might just remove the one on the top of the cab

It's an awesome looking figure, the only issue I had was that the arms tend to pop out of their sockets rather easily.
