Transformers 360
- Weapon: Corrosive Slime Shooter
Do not buy! Rent if you want to play it. I picked up my copy of the game at 4:30PM, started playing at 5PM and was done with the Autobot Campaign by llPM with liberal breaks. Granted, I didn't 100% it yet, but there's not much left to do. The combat is extremely simplistic, guns are pretty much useless. Melee and throwing cars is the only effective thing, and in fact, the only way you can beat 90% of the enemies. One of the unlockable skins is Robo Vision Prime, and it's listed as a "Gen 1" thing. The bonus cybertron levels appear to only be arena drone stomps. There's a little free-roam, but if you do, you have to listen to either Prime or Starscream and eventually Megatron tell you where you need to go every 2 minutes.

As movie games go, this was better than most.
That said, the cybertron edition was a total waste of an extra $10. The cybertron levels were insulting.
I did enjoy this game for what it was though. The meele combat and interactive projectiles are really fun to use, as it throwing a robot into a nearby building.
I will say this: the guns on most of the characters are really cool (especially Ironhide), and the fact they NEVER work on anybody above a lower-level drone is infuriating.
I found myself unloading clip after clip into shockwave, knowing he would block every bullet, just because it looked really cool on screen. It reminded me a lot og the combat in the G2 comics.

It can be a fun game at times, but infuriating at others. It's worth renting, and definatly better then pirates, but in all honesty, I kinda regret buying it. I think Monster Madness or Darkness or any of the other 20 games that came out today would have been better... aside from Ratatouille. I think another month or so in development or adding multiplayer may have helped it. And if the cybertron level didn't suck and the "gen 1 skins" where actually gen 1...

the game is getting pretty bad reviews in most big websites (ign, gamespot, etc) for both the 360 and the ps3... which tbh was expected since it Is a movie game afterall. only 1 movie game has been quite exceptional to this day, and that was riddick, which is just the exception that proves the rule (or however the saying goes
)

That's because the Cybertron levels were NOT exclusive to that version of the game. All you got for your $10 was the interviews disk and a different box. The rest of us got the crappy Cybertron "mission" (room?) too.

It doesn't support Live.

I am actually surprised it got such a high score from Gamespot. IGN just sounded biased in their review so i ignored them. I was expecting the game to be MUCH worse, like Superman Returns (man that has to be one of the worst games ever), but im glad it isnt so bad. Im still going to buy it cos...well...ITS A FREAKING TRANSFORMERS GAME!

Well, I have read thread after thread of Movie Game bashing. Mind you I'm still gonna buy the game, I love just being able to transform!! Maybe there will eventually be more codes to spice things up a bit. I just love that fact that you can get G1 Prime & Megatron. I don't care how ridiculously easy it it, so was the Armada game (For me at least)

Eh, it ain't that bad. Unfourtunatly, it's not worth the $70, though. Definately pretty to look at, but the controls are kinda wonky. Armada was better.

From ToplessRobot.com:• "Watching Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is marginally better than sh***ing your pants, but it takes a lot longer." Very well put.

The Armada game was a rare gem in an endless mountain range of crap games. You cant expect lightening to strike twice, especially with a movie tie-in.

Very true. I just woulda liked to see something done like that. Oh well, like you said, lightening won't strike the same twice.

Well the Armada game wasn't actually a movie tie-in since there wasn't an Armada movie, was there?
I actually didn't really enjoy the Armada game all that much though. It was kind of cool in that it had nice graphics, good controls and it was a transformers game, but it got tedious and annoying before I even finished it. I suppose it would have been more interesting if I knew more about Armada.

I Havnt even seen one episode of armada, but i still loved the game because it was Transformers!

I can understand why some people might find it tedious though, as its gameplay was repetetive at times.

If they would have made a couple more Armada games, it would have been awesome.

Ok, so I rented it today. The game really is "eh."
If it wasn't transformers this game would be an uber piece of ****.
Driving is clumsy and is a pain in the ass, you can knock cars around like they're nothing, but a small tree or light-pole and boom you're having trouble driving.
Speaking of tree's and light-poles. They are more effective than any of guns or swords the TF's have.
Beating Shockwave was simple, I slapped him around with a palm tree till he died.
I give activision credit, the transforming sequences are beautiful, but other than that, this game is really only worth a rental.

Wait til you do bumblebee driving in the Hoover Dam. Not to bad, until you have to drive down the tunnels with an explosion up your exhaust pipe. I never used a tree. I found tossing the police/sector 7 cars to be the best. It keeps them from hurting you, and hurts your opponnet. Becareful when you transform too. If you're hit as a car, you take more damage.

hey, interested in the G1 leaders, so is there a set amount of icons? And if I beat the game without getting them, can i just replay and get the icons on free roam?

all console versions suck. mostly because of the crappy camera(especially on the wii). the only decent ones are probably the ds and pc versions. but it you want to play as the movie characters, get the pc version(ive never played either).

when they say "xbox live not supported" they mean that there isn't a leaderboard or multiplayer but they could make a title update or even DLC to add these features yet the question is: will they?
