Is there a way to upgrade your transformers without putting them into a mission or arena battle? And what happen to choosing the robot form? I cannot do it anymore.

In order to upgrade your transformer, you're going to need xp. The only way to earn this is by doing missions or arena battles.
As for the robot mode, you may need to reset your transformer in order to access them. Hope this helps
