Both continuities are quite popular, actually.Midnight_Fox wrote:Animated and Kiss Players.
Yeah, I said it.
The latter is just the Japanese G1 cartoon continuity.

G1-ish. The UK comics continuity is a favourite, but IDW have really stepped up and impressed me. So many fun and interesting concepts introduced since LSOTW.
assembling a Neo-G1/TF:TM cast. Please PM if you have (or know of) the following at a reasonable price: Classics or Henkei Astrotrain, Sunstreaker, Sideswipe, or 3rd Party iGear Ratchet and Ironhide.
Also looking for Universe Repugnus and Overbite, Frostbite and Longhorn and any Webdiver toys.

Of coarse Im a G1 die hard so I think as far as comics go I really like IDW Generation 1 continuity….All Hail Megatron, The Transformers, Robots in Disguise, More than Meets the Eye. Love those issues.
In terms of cartoons of coarse the G1 toon 1984-87 and then Armada.
And I think out of the rest I might have to go with Prime just because its so different from all the rest of the shows with a more serious tone. Which is kinda is fitting since Im grown up now. Although Im not crazy about the designs I did enjoy the stories. And hearing Frank and Peter back together for the first time since I was a kid was a great treat.
I also love the WFC and FOC continuities. Those are by far the best current representations of true Transformers lore.
Wish they were just more than video games though.

The original G1 is my favorite; the first two seasons particularly. I do like Beast Wars, and now the IDW comics as well.

The entirety of the Unicron Trilogy (Armada, Energon, and Cybertron). A close second is Generation One, and third is probably Animated.

I absolutely loved the G1 lore that Dreamwave was building. I'm really sad that they went belly up, though given what we know now, it was only a matter of time.

The cartoon continuity, or the comic continuity?Mindmaster wrote:The entirety of the Unicron Trilogy (Armada, Energon, and Cybertron).

Despite it being obvious favoritism, I do kinda like how the Simon Furman-penned "Transformers: The Ultimate Guide" book had most of its info written in regards to the Dreamwave G1 comics, enabling that unfinished continuity to have a lot more of its blanks filled and expanded upon even beyond the comics themselves.Mkall wrote:I absolutely loved the G1 lore that Dreamwave was building. Though, there's also that one trilogy of novels that tie into the Dreamwave G1 comics continuity and were... less than subpar.

That would technically be a continuity family rather than a single continuity.Mindmaster wrote:Sabrblade wrote:The cartoon continuity, or the comic continuity?Mindmaster wrote:The entirety of the Unicron Trilogy (Armada, Energon, and Cybertron).![]()

But, as far as the cartoons go, you are aware of the evident flaws in the Armada dub and the Energon everything, yes?

Buttloads of errors in Generation One, doesn't stop it from being loved.

Yes, I know of the flaws in the dubbing and... virtually everything in Energon. Nothing's perfect.

G1 for me. But I have a pretty narrow definition of what G1 is. For me, G1 starts and ends with the cartoon. I don't even consider headmasters to be fully part of G1 even though they showed up at the very end (and in my opinion, helped kill the cartoon).

Cybertron's dub, at least, saved the trilogy and healed many of its wounds.

The Transformers Prime continuity. I liked Exodus, Exiles, and Retribution and I really loved TF WfC and FoC. The show was just great as well and I hope Robots in Disguise is too.

I dont mean to insult you but your opinion is sadly misinformed.
Season 3 killed the cartoon. The show was dropped/canceled in some markets before season 3 finished airing all its episodes. Some network even moved the airing of new episodes to early school day mornings, which is pretty evident of low ratings.

I love G1 just because. And as far as BWs,they're from the same family. I do NOT,however, like Beast Machines...nope...not one bit.
I agree i don't like beat machines. Beast wars is cool because it could be a lizard/dragonfly attacking a t-rex. I think the storyline in beast wars is great. G1 i love but like others, how long can they battle for where nobody dies. Until the movie, maybe three characters die in all. But probably my favorite is Bayverse. It was my first series that i ever heard of besides a g1 comic i but when i was 6 at a book fair.
