Ahh....crap. Titanium Soundwave

I love my titanium Soundwave. He is a perfect complement to my Classics in robot size and design, as is Rodimus Prime and Thundercracker. I wish I had passed on Joe Megatron and Classics Rodimus. Classics Mirage is an example of what all future Transformers should be.

I got him when I wanted a random Transformer fix, so popped into Argos (hoping for Rodimus Prime. Oh well). I have mixed feelings about him. Sometimes I think he looks kinda cool (in a Pat Lee art sorta way, so never very cool), other times I think he looks just plain daft.
What gets me about him is usually a Transformer looks cool in at least 1 mode, but he tends to look silly in both. His robot mode is fine above the waist, but the crotch and legs are all bloated Dreamwave style. And I've never seen a cassette deck that looks remotely like his alt mode.
On a side note, I can see them using this mold for Blaster down the line. All it'd really take is a new head and some minor remolding.

keep in mind he is primnerily gonna be aimed at kids, but is a nice nod gto us. be grateful for it. if you don't like it, make him into a bust by removing everything from the waist down. but he is cool to fiddlw with. hhame he is too heavy to ride alt jaguar

Nobody here seems to remember the awesomeness that Titanium Thundercracker is. He is stiff. His joints aren't loose, no limbs will pop off. Can take on a variety of poses. and he is a Cybertronian Seeker, what more can you ask for.
He is probably the best Titanium so far. With the release of Sunstorm, and Starscream in the same mold there at least 3 worthy titaniums out there.
Im also lookng forward to G1 Magnus. he looks really great just hope he is not as floppy as some of the others.
I really never had any interest in Soundwave, i saw the first few pics we got of him pics and just never liked him, i am however looking for Rodimus.
I also own Optimal Optimus who also holds together very well, and and i like his robot mode. The junk pile that is Megs. will forever remain in tank mode for that.

Actually. He's the only "good" quality Titanium figure.

Thundercracker is the best, but Starscream head is wrong, so he looks weird.
Rodimus is decent, but that gaping hole could have been fixed.

I like the Titaniums. They're the only thing Hasbro has even tried to make "collector oriented" sinces they crapped out on Alternators. And the best part is between the Classics and Tits, you can get 2 different versions of Gen 1 characters. Hot Rod & Rodimus, WW Prime & Gen 1 (& RiD & Monkeymus & Voyager). Nearly every way a Seeker was portrayed in the 80's has hit the shelves in the past 8 months. Where else were we going to get War Within from? Not the Movie not Heroes. They're actually trying to give us what we've said we wanted for like 15 years just so we don't get driven away by Michael Bay and his Juggernuat of Sucky Designs. They may not all be great but they're trying. I'd take Tits over RiD/A/E/C. Thats not to say those lines sucked, they just weren't for us. Titaniums are.

The Diaper Crotch
The instability of the legs in robot mode
No Cover for the batteries/cannons
Cassette Mode is more of a Blaster-type
Other than that, he's proudly standing next to Titanium Scourge.
SSshhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!! Don't give Hasbro re-paint ideas!!!

Gotta disagree with you here. Scourge is also a very nice quality Titanium figure. Definitely an improvement on G1, IMHO.

I already pointed out that repaint idea I'm afraid, and I really am rather inclined to think it'll happen. I cant think of any other reason why they designed him how they did.
Anyway, I actually found a way to reduce the floppyness in his legs - Polystyrene Cement (probably called something else in the states, but its the glue that fuses plastic to plastic in airfix and games workshop kits). You'll need to take his lower legs apart first though. And I find it works better if you dont leave it to dry before reconstruction.

What's wrong with Scourge?
Cheetor is actually really well made as well and the Fallen has a relatively minor single flaw (alt mode flaps as treds...).

I've heard what you guys are saying. But, I'm somehow not convinced that I shouldn't buy Soundwave. Even if it's just to have a "modern" SW with my classics. I have WW Prime and Scourge, I love em both. If the SW quality is crap, I'll deal with it.

Speaking for myself, I think they could have done a Titanium Soundwave better. However, it is far from the crappiest Transformer I have ever purchased. Like you (and since I wasn't sure I'd be able to get my hands on a Re-issue SW and I never had another one before [Cybertron doesn't count]) I wanted to have a version of him. Myself, I don't think he's as bad as some here think he is.
But then again, I actually liked The Phantom Menace. So take my opinion with a grain of salt...

MAybe it's just the way he is placed on my shelf at the moment, inbetween Rodimus Prime and RID Prime, but does Scourge look shorter than the other Titaniums to anyone else? With the robo-beard and everything, he looks like an Oompah Loompah. Like I said, maybe it's the angle or something.
I like Scourge a lot. After Megs and WWI Prime I lost interest in this line, but Scourge and Thundercracker rekindled said interest, and now I'm current up to the Fallen/Cheetor. Hell, I like Soundwave a bunch, and Jetfire is one of my favorites.
With that being said, come on guys, the Phantom Menace? I mean, I respect your opinions and stuff, but really? Sorry. That really struck me as funny. It wasn't that bad of a movie really, but it wasn't very good either. But hell, Plan 9 is one of my favorite movies, so what the hell do I know???
