"You are Wheeljack...in spirit..."

He caught my eye the first time I saw him simply for his nifty car mode. Absolutely no intention to buy him cuz I'm focusing on the classics line. But then I see his straight up Wheeljack head and face and how could I pass him up.

Pretty good and fun figure too. Just wish he didn't so much of an XBox color scheme.

They look different to me. The diaclone version of Wheeljack has even a stranger head.

he's great except for his head mobility issue.

There was a fix, but i had no idea how when i got him, and that was before we lost the thread it was on...

I got Downshift not only for the fact he is basically Wheeljack, but his alt, a 76' Barracuda is freakin' sweet.

Plus it was the only Transformer from the Cybertron line that has the look, transformation, and style of the old G1 figures.

It's a great figure.

Eventhough I have seen pics of cybertron Wheeljack, I prefer E-Wheeljack over him anyday

His name in Japan IS Wheeljack. Why they changed it to Downshift when it reached the US I don't know.

I picked him up more for his Muscle Car alt mode, than for his Wheeljack head. The Wheeljack head was more of a bonus over his Muscle Car mode.

But also I wanted a decent Wheeljack upgrade, and E-Downshift just did not cut it, his robot mode suffered a lot from the combination gimmick. And Armada Wheeljack was not Wheeljack.

So it had been the first decent Wheeljack in a long time. Add to that his Alternator like Articulation, and he is one of the highlights of my collection.

I wanted to get Cybertron Downshift for his cool classic car alt mode but I decided I'd get an Energon Downshift since he looks like a classics version of Wheeljack, I'm trying to decide wether to get the Energon version or the Universe version though.

I gotta say, i don't really like all the yellow in Universe Downshift's robot body. I think the Energon version is a much better Wheeljack homage.

Ok, I'm definitely getting E Downshift that Universe version looks cool in car mode but the bot mode just looks rediculous.

I'm also kinda fond of gis gimmick add ons. Now I can display him as a mucsle car, or as a Twisted Metal battle car!

I have E-Downshift in with my classics, he is a great figure.

I also have the cybertron version and while it is a great throwback, he is one of the few Transformers on display in altmode, it's a great car,

Downshift got me collecting again (along with MP Prime). I picked him up because of his muscle car look and he reminded me of a G1 Autobot. I'm a fan of Transfomers based on stuff in the real world. Here's his pic...

Oh, are you that young? That green color is classic 70's MOPAR.

MOPAR refers to Chrysler products, though most commonly I hear it in reference to the muscle cars like the Baricuda, Challenger, Charger, and Road Runner. I feel old....

I'd like to chime in late and say the Downshift is the greatest transformer ever created. With the exception of Mini-con Downshift. As for E-Downshift really being Wheeljack, Double A said it was flat out suppose to be Wheeljack. But seeing as they made Wheeljack a Decepticon in Armada ( who was Rampage in Micron Legends )they didn't want to disrupt the timeline of the trilogy, even though most of it fails hard at falling into place.

This has been a public service announcement by the Friends of Downshift.

Er, I'm not that young. Cars have never been my speciality. I mostly walk anyway.

Sure its a cool car, but I'm of the gamer generation sos anytime I see something with a light green/neon green/black color scheme, I'm gonna automatically think X Box.

At first I thought he was a repaint like Excellion, Sunburst, Hightail, etc., like thinking he had a prior, more Wheeljacky scheme.

Wow, I have always just waked by anything not G1 without even really looking. Energon Downshift really is an updated Wheeljack. I must get him!

Any other figures liek this that I have missed out on with my myopic view?
