The one thing I think everyone needs to keep in mind while debating this is that none of us can speak for the masses. Using phrases like "most seem to agree" or "nobody likes..." to somehow try and place your own opinion on a pedestal is neither fair nor accurate. As such, saying "female" transformers don't fit is an opinion and no more valid than someone else saying they fit fine.
People worry and fret that adding such a character would add nothing to the story, that "she" would be a distraction or something that would be too hard to explain... but all of these concerns are based on an unwritten script so they're all moot points. As fans of the transformers universe, if there is one obligation we have to one another I think it would be to avoid the temptation to stamp out parts of that universe others enjoy just because we don't. Transformers isn't just for you or me, it's for everyone, and it's a vast concept that can take countless shapes and forms. None of us have the right to tell others what type of character is or isn't appropriate as long as that character fits the definition of a transformer... especially when that character is ALREADY part of the universe.
Anyone else mad other then me that Arcee was taken out of the film?

You're absolutely right, you bring up alot of valid points.
My position is that I really want that Arcee design in movie #2, that may or may not happen, and I understand all the reasons why she couldn't. As much as I disagree with T Honk, I'm sure alot of people share his point of view as much as there are people who share mine.
I'm just upset that I seem to never get to see the characters I want to see again. I've had to put up with Prowl after Prowl after Prowl... seemingly thousands of Thundercrackers, a never-ending amount of Ultra-Magnuses (Ultra-Magni?) and what seems like a new version of Hot Rod/Rodimus every 15 minutes. Chances are none of my favourite characters will ever make it into the live action films, I think putting Arcee in there (and I'm still convinced that explaining her femininity is not as big a deal as people think it is) won't ruin the sequel for anyone.
Look, if the filmmakers made me like Bumblebee (and holy crap, do I hate Bumblebee...) then they can make the doubters like Arcee.

For the record Skowl I'm on your side for the exact same reasons.
I've always been a fan of the more obscure transformers (Perceptor being one of my all time favorites) so I too would like to see lesser known bots like Arcee recreated in this new Transformers universe in a way that others can appreciate as well. It could happen for all we know and time will tell. The entire point of my last post was to try to curb some of the people selling opinions as facts. You were not one of those people in my eyes.

Jawnee and Skowl: You both have to many good points for me to single out one. I'll add thats why i create my own robots. I like to see the obscure characters get a chance. I love Nightbeat, Prowl, Mantic Red alert. I love the concept of Female transformers, beign a scientist and architect, Im intrigued by the lesser known Cybertronians. The Robots and the locales. I do wish we could've have seen more of Cybertron. But bay isnt known for story telling.
I hope that in the next movie Arcee or not, that we at least get to see more "Home world" based Autobots and Decepticons.
Emirate Xaaron would be awesome to see on screen, all gold and crap ^^

I read that in the prequal comic book she fought as a member of his squad. I have to pick up the paper back becaus ei didnt feel like waiting month after month to read it. I want the whole thing at once.
So would that make her the smallest of the transformers. Other than frenzy of course.

Just from the artwork in the prequel comics, and her barrage of inquiry to Bumblebee as to exactly what the hell is going on at Tygar Pax, I'd say the character of Arcee would've been a good *strong* counterpart to a female lead/female leads, who, albeit, in a cheesey and cliched manner challenges gender stereotypes.
Much more Rebirth and Wreckers rather than the quiet and almost mute domicile in the Headmasters series.
You can't not have Ironhide though, although why Cullen never got the role I'll never know.
The nicest touch though is Prime literally opens wide the floodgates at the end of the movie, just how many and what Autobots turn up is a wonder in itself?
A select few crack teams or something akin to Galaxy Force/Cybertron?
Earth, quiet calm and peaceful, symbiotically balanced.
Until...

He's got some pretty far-out powers to go along with them, too, including teleportation, the projection of trippy telepathic visions and illusions, and the ability to groove on the language of 98% of all known species. To uses his powers to the fullest, though, he's gotta be feelin' good vibrations; bad karma can seriously harsh his mellow, y'know?

if i can accept Optimus Primes magic disappearing/reappearing trailor, i have no problem accepting a female robot personality. i hope she is in the sequel, and i hope they offer no explanation for her being a "her". i think people who do need an explanation for her are taking the whole TF universe a bit too seriously. this is all supposed to be FUN! we shouldn't need a spelled out logical answer for every detail. just my opinion.

Amen to that!
