Here's an off the wall topic for you:

IDW's G1 inspired series has proven to be fairly liberal in who it includes. We've already had several G2 characters and Gobots cameo in the comic series, and the story-line is set up as another parallel universe rather than as a retelling, prequel, or sequel to any pre-existing G1 story-line.

With that in mind, if you could pick any Transformer from any other TF series to be included in IDW's ongoing series, alongside recreations of traditional G1 characters, who would it be?

At the moment, I'm leaning towards Movie Barricade.

Actually he was used in War Within III, so I'll say Stalker!

I wouldn't mind seeing Sea Clamp, Cicadon and Ram Horn (although the latter might prove confusing what with Blaster's cassette).

I'd also like Shortround, G1 Hubcap, Energon repaint of Armada Demolishor, G1 Falcon, Tarantulas / Tarantulus [delete as appropriate], Cryotek and Armada Tidal Wave.

Since we already know that we're getting Jhiaxus my vote would have to go to Lord Straxus, and with badass cannon mode rather than as a head in a jar.

I'ld like to see a hand full of the DW and Armada cast myself

Cryotek would make alot of since, but if were hanging on it being a different continuity. I'ld like to see Waspinator, and...

Perhaps a re-named, re-vissioned, yet blatant Dinobot and BW Megs. I'm fond of the names Rapticon/Cruelock and Dominus. Then again These BW members should be getting enough expossure in there respective comics.

As for RiD, Armada, and such....

RiD: Prime and Magnus frames but different names with similar history; Scourge become Guitor.

Armada: some alts could be used, but i'm not sure about there personalities. Like Thunderblast (cyb?) being a female Sweep. Or Tidalwave/ Shockfleet being Shockwave's answer to OmegaSupreme.

I'm hearing a lot of love for Armada Tidalwave, and I have to agree.

Imagining Tidalwave under the command of G1 Megatron or Shockwave (the latter would be appropriate given his two names), launching the Seekers from his deck, practically makes me drool.

Especially if he was in the scale of his videogame appearance...

I think it'd be cool to see some axalon or Darksyde crewmembers showing up because of some freak transwarp accident.
But not for too long.

I don't think the guard/s were meant to be the actual Straxus, more of a homage to him, since he is such an obscure character (for anyone who did not read the Marvel G1 comics at least).

Tidal Wave would be an interesting one to bring in, I'd love to see Furman give him a character, rather than just be a lumbering Pokemon-esque Oaf.

I'd like to see Barricade designed into a G1 style character!

Also, I should mention that Simon's said he's only going to be using G1/G2 characters in the IDW continuity in his blog a while back, in case anyone's seriously wondering.

In one of his comments sections, so you'll understand if I dont go searching for a link/

This would be his second time writing him then since Furman did write Tidalwave in DW's Energon before it got canceled. I rather liked Tidalwave the way Furman writes him, he makes him more of a sadistic bully than a stupid soldier.

I'd like to see more of the Japanese Transformers outside of the ones from Beast Wars stories make it into the comics myself

Well that leaves the Turbomasters and predators still in with a chance.

I'd love to get a 4 part mini-series about their battle against one another on a different planet.. then have them introduced into the main-tion books.

Dude, that'd be awesome. We fully need to get a petition going to get the Turbomasters and Predators their own comic series.
