Mixed feelings about buying MP megs.

The transformation is what makes a figure cool to me. The harder it is, the better. I want to take 20 minutes changing a figure as it makes it worth the money to me....Though I didn't get Megs because I still hate his legs.

The transformation can be hard trust me i know...I think i spent about 30 mins to change him into the Walther. The handle of the gun was the hardest part for me

Its one big pain in the ass. If it was $40 like my Prime I'd say "great deal" or "well worth it" but the price on this makes me think....man I spent too much on this goofy ass toy that doesn't want to stand up.

Do you like Alternators/Binaltechs? The level of difficulty is similar.
Personally I prefer transformations that take less than a minute, although I love the complex look of my alts and masterpiece figures.
As for Megs, the first time is the hardest!

I passed on him. I'm not a fan of complex, time-consuming transformations, plus I just don't like the look of the figure that much.
And I still hate that he's a handgun.

I've seen that video of the transformation and I'm very impressed with the feat of engineering to get everything to fit and have a perfect looking alt mode and very close bot mode. Probably the best we will see ever.
Work of art, worthy of the title Masterpiece.

Congrats! Masterpiece Megs is an awesome figure. Amazing engineering.
The plug must go.
If, in the future you are disappointed or no longer want the figure, I'm sure it will fetch your purchase price or more on eBay once Megs is sold out everywhere. Demand for this figure is very high! You were better off getting it now rather than waiting and regretting it later once it is all sold out.

Megatron is a must have transformer. He may be a little hard to transform but in the end once youve gotten the hang of it it is so worth it

He's well worth it. The legs look fine, I wish people would listen to EVERYBODY who already has him when we say, they look MUCH better in real life.
Not buying him cuase the transformation is too hard seems rather silly. Especilly since MP tfs are ones you are gonna transform everyday. For the record, he's an utter bastard to transform, and I'm still not sure that I'm doing it right, lol.
He and 20th Prime are currently standing on my speekers either side of my screen, and boy do they look good!

I second Red's comments.
Do you want an anime acccurate version of Megatron? Do you want a figure to challenge Prime's position of top dog in the Masterpiece stakes? Then this is the figure for you.
Personally, I'm glad that the transformation is a little taxing. Yes, you do have to take your time, but surely that makes the purchase worthwhile? If a £70 figure took a few twists and turns I'm sure that the fan base would complain that the figure is too easy! The Binaltech comparison is a good one by the way.
Megatron's legs don't look as skinny in real life - if they had changed the width of the legs it would have compromised the alt form. Plus this is the tallest MP yet and I'm amazed that the designers pulled off the feat of making this figure so articulated considering the alt form.
Plus, I've not had any difficulty of posing my Megatron or keeping him upright. Starscream is the weakest for that issue - I'd say Megatron sits comfortably between Optimus and Starscream.
Finally, the accessories that came with Megatron are fitting.
All in all I'd say get this figure. Damnit!

I have to agree with jefire's comments. After you take the time to pose megs properly the skinny legs seem to vanish. Furthermore, he is an excellent complement to any alt, bt, or mp that you currently have.

The Transformation is only difficult the first time. After that you can do it without instructions in a 10th of the time.
Yes he does seem fragile, but the parts lock together quite well though some parts require some force to move or lock in place. The transformation really is amazing.

I wonder if a person wanted to sell him in the future, if they would have to replace the plug before they could legally sell or ship him? I know the toy companies have to do it, wouldn't a regular person?gogleman374 wrote:Lapse Of Reason wrote:gogleman374 wrote:Right now I am at a stump I am not sure if I want to purchase an mp Megs. Three things I have to say:
1. Megs is well worth your money.
2. Transformation and posing is hard but once you know what to do it's easy.
3. I AM NOT SELLING THIS GUY! He's for keeps.

It took me atleast 20 times to finally transform him right. I didnt know there were clips that you fliped up to make him click in Gun Mode. Theres little things that you miss in the instructions but regardless how hard he is to transform he is the most imppresive Transformer in the Masterpiece Collection.

Megatron is worth it! But don't get from BBTS, the glue is really stuck in there, and a little hot water won't make it come off, I know because I have it from them. Then I ordered a second one, and I got mines yesterday in prefect condition from CapturePrey.com. They're in the U.S, so if you're in the U.S, MP Megatron, won't get seized. At least, that's what happened to me.

I got mine from BBTS, it came out with no problems. Just use some needle nose pliers and twist. Its took longer to get the pliers out of my tool box than it did to remove the plug.

Dude, I don't think Megatron is fragile. Admittedly the joints are stiff (such as the second step to prise Megatron's head from his body) - but gradual pressure in the right direction make all the difference.
Of course, you can wait for the next batch to be released, but it doesn't necessary mean it'll be better. The mold might degrade for all we know.

Optimus arrived this morning and he is awesome and I should have Megatron later, since he was UPS shipped and not FedEx shipped like Prime here >.>
My tracking on Robot Kingdom MP Megs hasn't changed since the 20th, which makes me a little nervous about when I will get him....
