Wow that is amazing looking. I have always loved his look, even though not having really watched that much since it just recently got subbed. Also dont buy MP figures cause price, but this is awesome. I may be a heavily leaning G1 guy, but love Beast Wars and these MP Beast Wars figures. Been trying to find the Robot Masters version of Lio for a while at decent price, as the original is a bit too big scale for my Generations/CHUG stuff. I have the TFCC Lio and he is awesome. Damn :TAKARATOMY:

Since it seems like TT likes to wait 20* years before they start releasing MPs of a certain line, I can't wait until 2025 for MP99 Cybertron Leo Breaker.

*I know MPM was only 10 years, but I think you still get my point.

He looks great but is ultimately not really what I want in a modern Lio Convoy personally (I'd like to see one that's more of a revamped design while keeping the hallmarks of the character. Maybe go for a robotic beast mode) There would be a slim chance I would get him if I wasn't saving for a bunch of other stuff. Still, looks great!

sadly my lio convoy bit the dust some time ago, when I had to sell a bunch of things to get by. still have the galvatron though his drill parts fell victim to GPS. love the more toon accurate face on this guy (Kimba is that you?) so count me on the want it bandwagon. of course that will also depend on his price. TT mp line has gotten way too expensive.

Better posability in the Beast Mode at the very least. Also, what many of you have missed is a key selling point: the lion head. In the anime, the head suddenly changes from smooth organic to angular robotic upon transformation: this is replicated in the MP by having the lion head turn inside out, with appropriate detailing on either side.

There isn't a limited/set number of "slots" though. They make who they make.

It depends on who MP-49 will be. If it is a Beast Wars character (Fingers crossed for Terrorsaur or Rhinox) then that is fine. My concern is that MP Beast Wars Season One cast stands at 5/14. Almost halfway complete within three years, I'd hate for that momentum to be derailed for another sub-series.

Try looking for the Legend Commander Collection redeco of the RobotMasters mold. It's more recent and easier to find. I got mine from a seller on Amazon.com.

So really looking at that thing and pardon any naïveté because I don’t have the original but I’m familiar with the design - Wow. Ok, I’m seeing a double face in there too and I would not be surprised if the eyes are articulated like you said but what you have is an entire mane that appears to have 473 bajillion joints and completely reconfigures from an organic animals mane to a smooth styled robot mode mane. I mean it completely changes wow. You know just appreciating toy engineering as an art here, that’s fabulous. That looks super cool.

While many fans liked the reveal of Takara's Masterpiece MP-48 Lio Convoy, the wow factor wasn't there as much as on previous MP reveals (ie BW Megatron, Inferno, Dinobot). The large presence of beast kibble and the lack of knowledge on the character helped make it seem as if there wasn't as much an amelioration on the original toy, at least visually. Of course, that is partly due to his cartoon being much closer to the toys, so a toy looking like the show basically means it looking like the original toy. But there is a lot more at play here and I will break it down just in case not everyone caught onto it.

For those unaware, this is how Lio Convoy transforms in the show. His organic lion alt mode first becomes a robotic alt mode.

His original toy, left him as an organic lion, meaning that the mane doesn't have the angular and pronounced nature that it does on the show model. But we see it in this toy.

And yet, this MP Lio Convoy has an organic mane and face in lion mode. So, as you can see, the lion front completely morphs into a different robotic form for the robot mode, as it did in the cartoon.
