Stay away from the Lotus. I was trying them out 2 weeks back, the Elise and the Exige and they are very uncomfortable and not great every day cars. If you are buying for the track go for it but my brother in law was dead set on on Exige and it only took 5 mins for him to see how terrible it is.
Go for the Mustang.

That's sad about the Lotus :/ I did not know that. It's such a lovely car, it's a shame it's that way.

In June, which is when I get my Master's degree, I am getting a new Subaru..I have been in a huge debate with myself between the WRX and a Legacy 2.5 GT. I am very fond Subaru cars.

This was taken a while back. My car was a bit dirty and some wise-a$$ wrote a message on the back of my car you can see, LOL!!! Anyway here's a few pix:

Removed emblems and custom adhered lettering and metal emblem.

Pre-blacking out hubcaps...

hubcaps now black and nissan emblems removed.
I have since had my windows tinted. Also I have a TF vanity plate which I probably shouldn't show, but it's very cool. I don't know if I should get racing stripes for it yet or not. I still have yet to put an emblem up front on my grill which I plan to do soon as well.
Other stuff planned, but don't know if it's possible, but we'll see.

Again, how do you college students afford to buy such expensive cars?
Mind you being white and american usually helps...

Mommy and Daddy I'm sure... or a spoiled rich family... or a family who likes to throw lots of money at their kids... well yeah I guess that goes back to being spoiled

it is my parents' graduation gift to me but I will have to trade-in my car for the new one which would bring the price down quite a bit. I do not consider myself to be spoiled.

I am leaning more towards to the Legacy because I cannot drive a stick. The WRX is very commonly found with a standard transmission. It is very rare to find a WRX with an automatic transmission. Other than that, there is not much of a difference between the two.

I'm going to fix up my ion with my tax return, shave emblems, paint, perhaps new rims(one of my chrome ones got chipped), window tint, and some overall maintenance to the car.

That, I can grasp. Anyhow, how badly is it chipped to make you need a new one.Robinson wrote:I'm going to fix up my ion with my tax return, shave emblems, paint, perhaps new rims(one of my chrome ones got chipped), window tint, and some overall maintenance to the car.

Within a 3 inch gap theres like 5 chips and raised, like a hammer hit it from the side(It's just ugly). I am probably going to paint the car black so I might go with the black and alloy looking rims instead of keeping the all chrome. Havent decided on that yet.

Black/ Black usually works better.
The chipping is nowhere near as bad aswhat my mom did to the hubs on our old Oldsmobile. She ran them raw to bare plastic.

I like the black with silver lip look, I have a dealer that I can get a good deal through on the rims. I have to wait though.

Here is my original Blackstreak. These pics were taken when it was totaled by some nut case woman WHILE he was parked. As you can see from the front hood he's obviously Autobot. From the back window you can barely make out a smaller version of the insignia because of the light reflection.

When I am able to put the insignias on my Dodge Nitro I will post those pics, but it won't be any time soon as he is currently being leased. I may be able to put one on the rear window just because its safer.

See, we don't all drive imports. Here's Nimbus safe and warm because it's too freaking cold to take pics of him outside. I thought it was funny that Barricade was a cop car in the movie. I get mistaken for an unmarked cruiser quite a bit. A trip to Indianapolis a few years ago drove my friend insane. Every time she looked in her rear view she thought I was a cop on her tail and she'd slam on her brakes. I thought she was just a crappy driver

To the guy troubling over the Lotus vs. Stang:
The Elise and Exige are virtually wihout peer in their price bracket for roadfeel, handling and response. The Lotus is an ultimate Driver's car.
The Stang is a big dumb American muscle car, solid rear-axle, etc. Whoever bitched out the Lotus for interior comfort was overly picky. It's a British sports car, they know their stuff. Sit in one yourself before you make that call.
The Transmission and suspension of the Lotus is astronomically superior to the caveman engineering Ford has to offer in current Stang. If you enjoy your daily commute and driving is honestly still a hobby for you, do the Lotus. If you're a typical, overstuffed rich American who likes to think he's unstoppable, always right and can get all the chicks, but in reality you're pretty lazy and just want to write a big check to get the image as opposed to the actual performance, buy the Stang.
BTW was just thinking, I know this is sacreligious and wrong on many levels, but the Lotus would look kickass if you painted it up as Smokescreen with door numbers and all... take it to the track that way
