For TF1, the first time I heard a definite list of the characters was August 18th 2006, the film arrived a year later roughly. So maybe around mid-2008?
Maybe sooner if they are really going to crank the script out before all this strike nonsense.
Also some "new" characters were designed/modelled for TF1 but never made the final cut, so maybe sooner still.

I doubt thats the final decision. Could be a working plot, or could be a fake. Either way I'm sure the fans will make sure Megatron, and Starscream return.
I don't think studios let big scripts get away from studios. I mean honestly, if they did, would anyone of went to see Spiderman 3? I know I wouldn't of (you can tell I'm a bit bitter about that movie)

No, calling an (more than likely) un-written incomplete script is lame.
What was posted was NOT the script. It may or may not(Murphy denies, Nelson on behalf of Bay verifies) have even been a real treatment.
We have no idea if the actual script is complete and if not how far it is away from completion.
Honestly, why is this forum full of people who jump to conclusions so quickly?

I'm pointing to that particular script. Be it intended for the Movie or not.
It's NOT even close to jumping to conclusion.
It's simply saying "The script is really lame." As i have read it.
I didn't say the Movie's script is lame.
Gets?
I wonder why many people here would automatically pull out a different meaning from a clear simple statement that you make.
I've been getting that a lot.
Like how my stating a personal opinion could be misinterpreted as proclaiming a gospel truth of some sort.
Sheesh!

His name is Burn.
Anyway, I think most of the people here are talking about what was posted on IMDB. Or the original script for the film I linked to awhile back. And this thread hasn't made a proper transition to talking about the supposed treatment for TF2 anyway.
And the leaked treatment for TF2, I can see some fans arguing about it but I don't see Auto Bot as the type to call it lame.

No I don't actually.
Considering this thread started off about the "treatment" for TF2.
Perhaps it was your use of grammar? See when you say "the script is really lame" I take that as present tense. If I was referring to the first movie's script I would say something like "the script WAS really lame", as in past tense because it's done, finished. "Is" implies that it's still current, which would imply TF2.
See where the confusion comes from?

Actually, it's a very real rejected story treatment. And it has been confirmed as such.
Ashame it was rejected. I read the whole thing, and it was damn good.

Yeah, so am I. It was posted a couple of weeks back. Nelson on Bay's site confirmed it, and I read a report on one of the fan sites(don't remember which one) that one of the writers did as well.
Edit: No I'm not, I'm a dumbass. I was thinking the one on IESB.com. Disregard that last bit.

heres a rumor about the aerialbots tf 2 ( i dont believe it )
hello,i'm from quebec city and i heard something of interest for us at local radio station.
here the story,in 2008,it's 400 anniversary of quebec city foundation and every 2 years we got an airshow event, next yearsis gonna be a huge one because of the 400.so it's seem that tf2 scouts would have call the city official about that airshow in june 2008,they'll wish to shoot a few action scene, one would included a b-52 in rescue!it look like they need a big crowd ,we talk about 30 000 people each time, every day!
so,will they want to have superion in the film?i hope so!is it only a rumour?
i already see that!all 5 aerialbot transforms in the middle of the crown, form superion and help the b-52 from crashing in the crowd!
so that its!
oh ,sorry if my english is bad

That was why i didn't use the past tense. I wasn't referring to any old or new movie.
I'm only referring to the script that i just read. The script that was just made available to me thru a link posted a few message back.
Very much present tense.
No confusion at all.
It's just the way people think i could be leaning towards which side. It's a state of mind of the reader.
But i was not jumping into anybody's bandwagon.
It's only the script i just read. Really lame.

I'll finish it up first.

The plot summary of the rejected treatment looked terrific. Like many, I felt disappointed with the amount of characterization the Transformers received in the first movie, especially the Decepticons. The first movie relied on several MacGuffins, and even though it could be argued that the plot summary involving the Creation Matrix and the power source does the same, it does so in a more interesting and potentially character-driven way. With this plot premise, the second movie could have more heart and, staggeringly enough, even bigger action.
It's probably not what the movie will turn out to be, but if it is, it'll have my dollar more than the first one did.
