JaffleMaker wrote:Yes. The more and more my collection expands, the more and more bored of it I get. I started collecting for sentimental reasons, trying to get all the figures I had as a kid, then I started getting all the figures I'd always wished I'd had as a kid. And from there it went to getting everything simply just to fill in gaps in my collection.

So now instead of having a small collection of figures I really appreciate and cherish, i now have 9 or so storage tubs of figures I have no interest in. A boring collection.

I hear that. I am trying to limit what I buy to stuff I just really want to display.. but one always sneaks in that I get because "well he's hard to get".. or something.. lol.. speaking of that.. i found a fig that was featured in a wreckers comic, who i found at a comic shop which i'll have to buy..b ecause he's cheap. he's ugly, but he's cheap, and i've never heard of him before! Mol or something.

Big collections suck, hard to appreciate every piece, I think.

I have a small collection, but I like it alot. I only get the ones I really want. I have many hobbies and Tfs is one of my favorite. I'll never have a friggin huge collection like some of you guys. Even if I could, I wouldn't. Too many of a good thing, ya know. I prefer to really like the few I have over not liking that much half of my collection. I don't get upset when I don't have all the figures of a line. I have the ones I wanted, and that's what making me smile when I look at my little plastic and metal dudes on the shelves.

Motto: "Faith will crumble before the rage of philosophy."
Weapon: Ionic Displacer Rifle
I get overwhelmed sometimes, and I'll suffer the occasional bout of burnout, but bored? Never.
I told the fire to go **** itself, and it did.

Rijie Seeking:

Botcon 2009--Souvenir Sweeps
Botcon 2010--Souvenirs Rapido, Scorch/Shattered Glass Ravage

MISP preferred, but will consider opened NM/Complete, especially for older figures. Lots of TFs for trade! Please PM any inquiries, serious interest only!

I love my collection, and will probably never get bored of it. Sure, it's small (23 and growing!), but that makes it more fun. Will I love when I have huge armies of Decepticons and Autobots to wage fake-war with all over my bedroom? Yes. That will be awesome, and prevent boredom forever. That's why I collect TFs, to play with them, and to display them. That's the difference between TF collecting and everything else collecting - TFs you can play with. Stamps you can look at.

Now, are there a couple TFs that I've become bored of individually? Sure. And why? Not because they've become boring, or that they are dumb simple toys with easy transformations, but that they're too hard to play with, and too hard to display! I'm looking at you, RID Galvatron and Deluxe Barricade.
