The colorist, Jean Paul Bove, explained that in the 20 years that have passed, Prime has upgraded his form somewhat. He has enlarged his backpack to it's original size, and his colors are more original as well, pretty much like the Actionmaster figure that came with the New Year's Prime figure :)

In any case, some thought went into that :)

from what I hear, they will be acknowledging a few G2 elements, could be a new "OLD" body is one of them

So IDW is re-releasing the original US and UK Marvel series in trade paperback. So far for the US series, they have one released, and two scheduled for 2012.

book 1 - Already out
book 2 - January 2012
book 3 - March 2012
book ? -

Does anyone know how many books they will release, and when they will drop? Will they all be out before issue 80.5 in May?

I have never read 8 of the last 10 issues, and don't want any spoilers before I can get the book with those.

Well, the first time they reprinted the Marvel issues it totaled out to six volumes. Since this second run with have a few more issues added back in (since they were misisng from the first run), I'd imagine this run to have at least six or seven volumes.

As for the UK trades, no clue, since this is the first time they're compiled them.

And, it's doubtful that they'll finish these in time for 80.5. But that's what 80.5 is for: To get new readers who never read 1-80 caught up and familiar enough with the story to jump right on board.
