I mean this is what it is supposed to look like, complete. NA only had Nordor and Starship Eternia as it's setpiece playsets. So that is the limit of my knowledge. Looking into the Eternia playset and it's history. The price tag doesn't even shock me. Given it's rarity and if it were complete. I doubt I'd even take it out of the box. Having that kind of money to burn on a toy, I'd go for a 100% complete in box G1 Metalhawk.

Comics and cocktails have revelations wave 3 in at £100 for the set which is way better than the £27+ individually other places have been charging (also way worse than the £20 full rrp previous figures were available at)
Think I'd have to paint Andra blonde and give her some eternia guard green on her if I had time for that.
Also I'm guessing the Origins horde troopers being silver instead of grey is like the transformers gold/yellow dinobots thing or just an excuse to have a grey version as an exclusive down the line.

small photo out of origins Whiplash in all his 80's.. ermness...doesnt show his back pack tail thing in the photos
https://toynewsi.com/241-42536
I'll be getting him anyways but def not one of my favorites (200X design was way better)
Origins Wave 9
digitino
whiplash
king randor
green comics trapjaw
I'll likely pick them all up with green trapjaw being my lowest priority along with a second king randor for a Jerry the King Lawler custom for the Masters of the WWE.

I had Whiplash as a kid and I never understood his teeth, does he have a tooth sticking out of his nose? I wonder if the art was drawn that way and the sculptor got it upside down or if it was drawn as him with his mouth open and the sculptor mistook the open space for his upper lip. Well anyway, yeah, I'm doing all but Trapjaw.
Had a little road trip today, picked up Masterverse Beastman, Scareglow, Spikor, Stinkor, Fisto and Andra. First time I've seen wave 3 at all.

I looked at the link and thought, he's not the colour I remember? Turns out, from a little digging, I had Tung Lashor as a kid. I forgot how many Lizard/Snake men existed in MOTU.

Yeagh I've never understood whiplash face either, unless he lost his tooth in a fight and uses it as tribal nose piercing deco.
Masterverse New Etetnia Zodak photos out too
https://toynewsi.com/241-42554
I'm thinking they could go more wild with the new eternia look but it is nice to get the classic/new look included with the figure when a certain company cant even include two heads with a Mcfigure. Would have liked Zodak to maybe have glow in the dark paint for his tatoos/cosmic powers.

They don't tend to get too experimental with Zodak. Even 200X just gave him some glowing tattoos. I like the pelt you can add to Beastman though. He is one that never looks quite right as solid plastic.

Trust me. As a kid in the 80s this was absolutely awesome. The MT. Rushmore of gigantic toys in the 80s was definitely Fortress Maximus, The USS Flag, and Eternia Playset.
I never got into GI Joe as a kid, and I never knew anyone who had the Flag. I did get Fort Max thanks to my Grandparents. But Eternia was definitely the one that got away. As a kid I saw it in a store once. But $7O- $100 in 1987 was way too much, especially since Grayskull was around $30 in 1982, and Snake Mountain was $40 in 1985. Im happy to have owned the original Fort Max, and if I could do it all over again, I'd make the same choice, but man...that Eternia Playset is a thing of Beauty.

Looking over stills and screen shots, I'm trying to see if the playset even featured in the Filmation series.

Can't find more than this. The palace itself, seems to be it.
Although I did see this:

The custom crowd certainly envisioned the updated Eternia Playset.

The Mattell Eternia Playset was its own thing it looked nothing like the Eternos Palace in the Filmation series ( Just as the Horde Fright Zone looked nothing like Filmation, nor Snake Mountain). But it had an awesome gimmick where you could connect Grayskull and Snake Mountain by the 2 exterior towers representing each.

Just a heads-up that Target is having a sale on some of the MotU figures.
Both the Origins and Revelations lines are included.
As I was hunting for Kickback and Dragstrip this morning, I ended up at a Target that had a clearance Battlecat for $7.49... But the other store I went to had 2, but they weren't clearanced... ???
Then I thought it's kind of pointless to have B.C. and no He-man, I also snagged a Battle-Armor He-man for $15...
With these two purchases, looks like I'm going to return the Netflix series Skeletor and Trap Jaw.
I really like the look of these figures, but I'm also willing to wait to until they go on sale or on clearance. Yeah they're only $10/per, but those were impulse purchases, and along with not really wanting them (or planning to get them), it's no bother if they don't go on sale for another year... I'll know by then if I even think it's worth it either way.

The odd/sad thing about this is, that EVERY time I go into Target, something MOTU is on sale. I can't remember the last time I saw them and something wasn't on clearance or on sale. Normally this is a bad sign, but as we've seen, both lines still have new waves coming, so who knows.

Might just be one online store but the price increases are pretty steep for MOtU
Origins standard now £22 (£15 at release, then £18 then £19) fortunately Mantenna is standard and not deluxe
Origins deluxe...dunno but originally £18
Masterverse £20 now £28 to £29 with deluxes ranging from £35-£38
Hero is weirdly a deluxe despite not coming with a great deal, Beastman, she-ra and hordak are sadly deluxes. Masterverse is essentially now classics price but with better availability for overseas retail.

Stranger still is how many things go on clearance and then back to normal. Seen it happen with Battle Cat everywhere and the Keldor set at Target.

New rumors afoot of Mattel being for sale :/
I'm hoping to pick up series Orko tomorrow as smyths have reduced him to £7 (which is more fitting of a $8 figure wooop)
And my horde troopers arrived.
Packaging art sneak peak thunder punch heman.
They look really silver in the box but under light they are reasonably grey. The marbled silver look is pretty nice on them too. Sadly they don't get crossbows like the super expensive exclusives and it's a shame they can only hold a weapon in their right arm so it does affect troop building poses a bit. I'd quite like shields for them so I'll probably get some 3d printed. I think Hemans head on one is going to look a bit off with out customising the head to sit lower but I'll know when I've found my bag of motu bits.
Only got the three on display as I had to kick off funko mumra and slythe to make room for them anyways. Looking forward to finding room for snake men.

Viking He-Man - £27.99
Also a few from the new He-Man show. Which I haven't seen yet. But why does Man-At-Arms look like Samus Aran now??

Those are still $15 up there? They're now $18 at Walmart here, when they have them, which is hardly ever.
Found WWE Superstars Rick Flair at Walmart, they had five of them and no others. The price wasn't on the shelf yet so I had a little sticker shock when he rang up for $20 at the checkout. I guess those cloth robes and extra hands aren't cheap. I still have a few Remco wrestlers kicking around somewhere around here, he has a similar vibe thanks to the MOTU body. Grabbed the one with the best looking card (and unpunched since they were on the shelf) as I don't plan on opening him like I didn't all of my WWE Universe figures.

You mean 18$US? Man, it's really bizare that on the MOTU Origins front, we Canadians are privileged so much! Especially at Walmart because at 15$CAN (11.67$US) it's a small miracle. Especially when there's some in stock. At Toys R Us, they only have the last wave and He-Man / Skeletor at 18$CAN. More expensive than Walmart because of course, but at least those are still way cheaper than geek stores who charge the normal US price of 25$CAN (19.46$US).
I'm still kicking myself for missing out on the first waves. There's a few characters I would really love to have like that robot with the gears inside.
------------------------------------------------
A character that I find extremely sexy and bad-ass is Shadow Weaver. The classic version of course.
I mean, daaaaaaaaaaaaaaang.

I know she's a She-Ra character but she would look amazing in my MOTU display. However, no toy of her was ever made in the original toy line and I'm not sure if the only "viable option", the SUPER 7 figure would fit in the vintage display and if she would not be too big compared to the Sorceress or Evil-Lynn.

Get the Super7 As seen on TV retro version, The plastic was way too shiny on the as seen on tv figures but she looks great (RRP was something like £18 but she is probbaly near £30 over here). It's the one thats net to the horde troopers in my last photo.
Also Playmobils Kitt is out/up for preorders (£70 here

Kanes joined up with the horde. He should go nicely with the red and black horde troopers for those that have them.
His red robot arms might be reused for mini comics? (megaconstrux has a roboto in red anyhoos) version of roboto later on.
Kanes hair is cthru plastic and whilst he might not get three arm accessories the flame thrower blast effect more than makes up for that. A stridor painted red and black would be awesome for him. Sadly scareglow undertaker will remain out of my budget so I'll wait for the superstars version (which will also probably be overpriced too).
