Note I said "97%" decried the price on Social Media. Because it doesn't matter how many "laughing at you" emoji's there are. Or replies echoing "Are you crazy?" Some people have no problem with being a willing audience to these practices. Driving up the prices for everyone else in their self-centred ignorance.

That's why this continues. The self-same people giving a quizzical shrug, that they don't know why these prices rise either?

Common sense ain't that common, as they say.

Well, no matters how you don't like it, if these sell at those prices, then those prices shall be.

And if like you say "97%" of people complain about those prices really don't buy them at those prices, but the things still manage to be sold out, then those social media people are the minority of the minority.
So either you swallow the pill, or you give up on collecting these entirely.

I personally gave up on many things because the prices they were getting began to be unacceptable for me. Like buying new Pullip dolls or ordering anything from Mandarake since the coof crisis (F U, mandatory no-deal DHL shipping with sure shot custom fees!).

I've given up. Several times. Even on here, at my collecting peak, I'd have been part of most line specific threads. I used to have an extensive collection of Marvel Legends, for example. Before I realised how inferior Hasbro's stewardship of the line, compared to Toy Biz.

Every time I've looked into a regular retail line, since then. There has been a catch. So I stick to collectors lines. Even then, I am wary of which I choose. Since BFS' shady practices with the Bucky line in particular.

I'm sure Dragon Blaster Skeletor is coming, his dragon came with WWE Ricky Steamboat and showed up again on the box for Stridor.

We've gotten a few of the Easter eggs that have appeared on box art like the tiny dragons that came with the Battle Ground set and we're finally getting a frog figure that's been showing up on all the packaging so I have no doubt Dragon Blaster Skeletor and those Snake Troopers are coming (where's gray haired Randor?).

***Catra suffers from the same problem as some neca super shredders did. There is already a plastic tag holding it to the packaging left and right. So that's two holes in the Cape even if carefully removed. Then just for a bonus the right arms tag pierces the Cape in two more places and those holes are noticabley bigger. She still looks great tho

Yeah, now that it's a sure thing the Eternia playset has really gotten a burst of backers. I checked this morning at it was at 98% and 127 short of the 5,000 goal. At 5PM it was at 5,458, and now it's at 5,600 and increasing steadily. It's on its way to having gained 1,000 new backers just today alone, it's best day since the initial launch I believe. I did notice in their forum that some people are holding off in hopes that BBTS and other third party retailers will take orders so they don't have to pay the full amount up front. I don't know if this will hit the 10K mark, but 8K feels a little more achievable now.

Meanwhile HasLab Ghost Rider has only lost backers since its first week.

Well, the original USS Flagg was in-scale with 3.75 figures and gigantic. For a Classified USS Flagg to be in-scale with 6" figures. It could potentially be the size of a large kitchen cabinet :shock:

The price would be equally insane.

An updated Nordor or Starship Eternia are simply never going to happen, going down the crowd funding route

One thing I learned with all these crowdfundings is: Never say "never".
Some people in their adult and middle age years have money to burn. And if some people can whale thousands of dollars in some crappy mobile game, those same people can whale thousands of dollars in some insane toy. Like a Garage sized airplane carrier that cost the same price as a luxury car!

I don't doubt USS Flagg can be a thing. I think the precedent for that was set by Jabba's Sail Barge.

The big ticket New Adventures items, on the other hand. As a realist, I'm under no illusions that I'm a fan of an outlier. For every fifty fans that will throw money at Snake Mountain or the Eternia set. There is likely one NA fan among them. I doubt the fanbase has the numbers in the 21st century for the backer goals necessary for crowd funding.

I think at $500 for a glowing dual-ended stick. Those 1,413 backers are more concerning than what was being offered.

It might be deemed "unfair" by some (seriously, whoever told you life was fair, lied to you) but a limited-stock, first come first serve preorder is the most logical approach to the various vehicles of something like NA.

The real concern is not the toy itself. It's the fact that it's a thing that represent a subpart character from a subpart show with absolutely ZERO nostalgia appeal.

Because these projects have a key factor to succeed. Being ICONIC and NOSTALGIC. Crowdfunding an expensive toy for the latest "reboot" are doomed to fail.

However, that "key" can still get stuck into the lock. Like Cookie Monster and that poor Rancor...

I think it is the nostalgia thing that doesn't work in NA's favour. In the franchise as a whole, I think the NA fanbase is a raindrop in the MOTU ocean.

Well, to put things in perspective, just imagine a HASLAB for a life sized, 500$ Snarf from Thundercats ROAR. That's what this lightsaber was.

Also, what's the "NA" from MOTU? Some kind of epic vehicle?

Well, Campbell Lane is Skeletor to me. I certainly preferred the more 'Flash Gordon' oriented direction of New Adventures. Besides, it's what I grew up with. I tried to watch Filmation in more recent times. Gave up about 5-10 minutes in. Unwatchable to me. Just like pre-Movie Sunbow.
