Gotten to know him this 5 days and what do I think of him? Well........in my honest opinion he SUCKS.....................NOT!
Just joking fellas. He may not be the greatest thing since sliced bread, but he sort of fills in my fix for a big bad bot since Galaxyforce.
He stands the height of Armada Superpants Prime(emphasis on the "pants" part) but with much wider girth.
You got a lot of homages beginning from G1 all the way to the present.
On the G1 one part:
1. The red, gray and blue.
2. His plastic is a lighter shade of red(wished it was darker)
3. His blue colors has a lot of metallic specks sprinkled all over (similar to that of GF Optimus......okay not G1

)
4. As described in the youtube review, he's got a HUD that also recreates his "wind shield" chest (this one painted in metallic aluminum gray with some simulated design patterns)
5. He's got feet design looking a lot like that of Fortmax and a "holder/prison" like compartment on his calves
6. His battlestation mode is similar to G1 Metroplex with pseudo tank treads on rolling plastic wheels
Beastwars1.His girth and mass reminds me of a big bad gorilla (trukk not monkey

)
2 He's got simulated toes like that of a gorilla
3.His arms kind of longer than his calves.
Superlink/Galaxyforce/Bayformers1. A highly detailed face sculpt that reminds me of Fatimus Prime only this one collapses once folded up (like that of Starsaber's in G1)
2. Again, the super detailing on the helmet makes it really bad@ss
3. More bad@ssness? Both his arms come with two chain gun looking sculpts.
4. His chest/HUD screen looks a lot of GF 's chest panels
5. Somewhat reminds me of how detailed the Bayformer Optimus looked like.
Others:1. Remember Ripley's power suit she used to fght the Alien Queen in Aliens? This sort of looks to be like that for TFs(like they ever need one?)
2. His Megablaster looks suspiciously similar to Gundam RX-178 hyper bazooka.
The good and the badFirst the good1. Super detail, I mean, all the hydraulic piston and gear patterns
2. A good nod to Courageous of Gobots fame.
3. 3 sound effects (two shoulder button activated and the 3rd when you fold his legs)
4. Awesome head sculpt which collapses/folds when you lift it up.
5. He's got a lot of this C shaped clamp compatible doohickeys to attach your other cyberverse figures' weapons
The bad*this depends on your point of view
1. He sort of feels too light and hollow. And I don't mean his skeletal looking design......the plastic seems to be hollow in his torso.
2. The light piping gimmick that they tried on Superpants Prime, well it kind of falls flat.
3. The nod to Courageous is a mix bag. because in the former, the parts fit snuggly with the Powersuits. here, well they just don't have any locking mechanism. In fact, Prime's control cockpit could have had an option to lock his feet into the torso (similar to how Cerebros could lock in Fort Maximus' chest compartment)
4. He uses 3 friction powered missiles (wished it were spring powered so it can poke a kids eye to blindness

)
5. Limited articulation to just his elbows and legs.
So these are the salient points I noticed from Optimus Maximus. One of the biggest figs since......well since Revenge of the Fallen (not counting that big yellow cancer Doubledealer made a post on

)
Big and butt ugly, but ugly with a charm that I just couldn't resist getting him.
Btw, get yourself a Commander class Cyberverse figure of Optimus first, he looks naked without him.
And speaking of Commander Prime, you know where to put his two translucent guns? Well, stick it in the holes behind Optimus Maximus' right and left shoulders to simulate the "smoke stacks" appearance of G1 Optimus.
