Question about Movie Scorponok's claws.

Postby Mulla » Mon Sep 17, 2007 1:06 am

Howdy all.

Are the three prongs on each hand meant to be able to extend out?

I've noticed with Jin's custom it could, but I only thought it was because he modified it. That was until I saw this image:
http://tformers.com/ig.php?mode=view&al ... 00&start=0

When I try to do it they feel locked in however, and if I apply too much force it feels like they may break.

Any help would be great. Cheers.

P.S. If anyone can tell me how to hyperlink with HTML while you're at it, that would be great. Sick of posting whole links.

Hey Mulla, I've tried to straighten out the claws too, but have had as little success at it as you. They really do feel that they are going to snap right off.

To html hyperlink use this code:
name of site

But without any spaces (there should however be a space between the a and href.

Don't forget the "" either.

They do extend. I figured it out just the other day. First, you have to rotate the claws so they line up with the gaps in the grey plastic that runs around the edge. Then, grabbing near the base of the claw, gently apply pressure to push them up. They are made of soft bendy plastic, so you can't grab too high or you'll snap them in half. Once you do it once, they're quite easy to open and close again.

However, they don't really seem able to be half-open, half-closed due to the square shape base of the claws. They tend to be either open fully or closed fully.

What he said. :D QFT. I had my scorponok probably a month before I noticed the gaps, and thought to myself; I wonder if these open. Sure enough they did. The hands won't spin when open though, so beware.

Pressure applied and.....................it works!

Excellent! Cheers for the help guys. I'd always seen the gaps but was too afraid to bend the claws too much.

Do it Trunksie. Do it. What with the claws extended and my LC Megatron's arms modified, my movie figures just keep getting better.

i can do it on mine. Just be gental and make sure the claws line up with the slots on the arms otherwise they won't line up. Looks pretty cool if i do say so myself 8)
