This is the one Transformer I would have never guessed they'd reissue! Great news. I have no regrets about buying the original 2 years back but I will def. buy this one too.
Here's hoping they also reissue Grand Max! I really hope this is not some fake April fools joke. I would be Max'd out!

You put G1 Fort Max ahead of G1 Jetfire? No matter how much of a chance other G1 toys have of getting reissues, that one will never EVER get an official reissue.

So unless it's an official tease, we should be ashamed for getting so excited.
PO'd MP15, still thinking about Fort Max.

TomyTakara will most probably change Encore Fortmax's screws with rivets. So don't worry about substitutions. Same thing with the Encore Convoys, you can tell the difference from the year 2000 issues over the ones before. First is the mold degradation on his left back , just right of his shoulder and the different front wheel axles.
And of course the new copyright embossed differently.
On another issue, I'm again noticing a trend among our "jaded" collectors.![]()
What would you expect for the design and price? Hence Encore ....re-issue of a late 80's designed figure. Expect it to be blocky with limited points of articulation reflective of the technology of those bygone days. And the price? Don't you guys have a sense on the logistics needed to restore the molds, packaging and transportation cost? And of course, the bottom line Tomy will reap from this endeavor? Toymaking is a BUSINESS for profit and not charity![]()
Iirc, Fortmax more or less broke even for both Hasbro and Takara waaaaaaay back in 1987 given the size of that bruiser so the present SRP of US$ 350 + is quite justifiable (factor in inflation/deflation)

You know you're excited when you can't even spell right...
Also, I finally broke down and changed my mind. I put in a preorder for the big guy. I even had to make a new account for BBTS. Never used them before. Now, hopefully Grand Max will be reissued down the line, so the trio can be completed. (Already got my Brave Max.)

Also....
Who the heck is going to buy an Encore for $350+ just to switch out parts on an original Fort Max, then sell it????
