That would be awesome. I love the work IDW has done but I do not trust their management.Diaboragon wrote:aronjlove wrote:Will there even be any IDW staff left to continue these comics? The industry is in flux and IDW has laid off or furloughed a metric butt-ton of employees.
I'm also not confident IDW as a whole will survive the next year or two. The only best case scenario I can see is when they dissolve, Hasbro absorbs whatever staff it wants into a comic division of its own for all the properties it's invested in.
It could be a problem creatively if the Transformers comics are completely under Hasbro's control. Even now Hasbro largely controls them, but I have a feeling that if they start producing comics under the Hasbro banner with their own staff on payroll, we'll get nothing but book versions of Rescue Bots and Cyberverse. No comics with more adult-themed stories or art that isn't toned down to dull colors and has sharp edges.aronjlove wrote:That would be awesome. That... would not be good. Character growth was the defining trait of IDW 1.0 and was hoping to see what would grow out of 2.0.Rodimus Prime wrote:It could be a problem creatively if the Transformers comics are completely under Hasbro's control. Well doesn't that pretty much describe the ongoing itself as well?D-Maximal_Primal wrote:Can't tell if it is just me, but I feel like the solicit for the ongoing is the same as it has basically been for 3 issues in a row now
