Has anyone seen a Star Wars Transformers Death Star Darth Vader at any stores? Packaging can be crap, item can be at a discount store (like TJ Maxx, etc) ... just need to find one so I can get the cape that I threw away when I removed him from the package after my basement flooded last year.

Speaking of Star Wars Transformers and discount stores, Marshall's has a large assortment of the regular sized ones for 1/2 off at $7.99 each.

Algonquin Target had at least one each of the HFTD wave 2 (Hailstorm, Elita-1, Tuner Skids, Sidearm Sideswipe). There might have been two of Sideswipe and Elita-1, now that I think of it. Nothing new at Algonquin TRU, but then Algonquin Walmart had one each of War for Cybertron Megatron and Soundwave, which I grabbed, but they still have 2 Red Alerts, and a bunch of the PCC Wave 2 5Packs (Rallybots and whatever the other one is). No sign of Darkmount at any of those, unfortunately. Still, I'm just glad to finally see something new out here, and get Megs, Soundwave, and Hailstorm.

Also, nothing new at Crystal Lake Target.

The Algonquin Target had several exclusive two packs, but aside form that, nothing interesting

The Algonquin TRU hadn't changed much since I was last there, but had two MP Grimlocks that looked like they were becoming shelfwarmers

The Algonquin Wal-Mart had two (now one) Generations Soundwaves and one (now none) Darkmount along with two Cybertron Megatrons

Walmart in Glen Ellyn (Rt. 83 and Butterfield) had one each of the new PCC 2-packs- Icepick, Sledge, and the race-car one. I bought Icepick and Sledge, had to control myself so I left the 3rd one behind. No new 5-packs, and the Bombshock and Skyburst sets were still $19.99.

Walmart on North Ave west of Melrose Park had the wave 2 PCC 5 packs (Mudslinger and Double Clutch), as well as Skyburst and Bombshock, all for $15 each. Also saw 2 Darkmounts, 2 Red Alerts, 2 Cybertronian Megatrons, and 1 Cybertronian Soundwave.

Didn't see anything new at the TRU in Melrose Park or the Target (other than Megatron and Darkmount).

Also stopped at the Marshall's in Melrose Park to see what they had. The toy section was junked! This is why I never used to stop in these stores. The one in Des Plaines has a nice organized toy section, but this was just a disaster with crap thrown every which way on the shelves. The typical $12.99 TFA Skywarp and Shockwaves were there in bulk, as were some Star Wars Transformers for $7.99. Odd thing I saw at this store were a bunch of ROTF deluxes ... but not with clearance prices or I probably would've picked some up. They had ROTF Jolt, Ice Cream twins, Dead End, and at least a few more but they were all priced at $9.99.

Dollar Tree in the same shopping plaza had a bunch of Transformers RPM single packs I presume for $1. I was tempted to snag them for that price but passed.

I'm just seeing all the same toys at the stores I visit. Not really worth reporting.

Hm ... well, then let's chat about things that we got recently or whatever you guys want to talk about. This thread doesn't just have to be about sightings, though it primarily should. No harm in just chatting.

I bought a collection off someone earlier this week. 77 Transformers for $80. Some are missing their accessories, but surprisingly a lot of them had their parts. Some highlights from the collection: Energon Omega Supreme, Armada Optimus Prime, Energon Powerlinx Optimus Prime, Cybertron Optimus Prime and a whole slew of other figures. Even had a few pieces I needed to complete extras I'm going to sell on eBay from my childhood collection that I've replaced.

Did anyone else get the 2010 Unicron yet? Mine had a couple of paint chips on it's face which I was really bummed about. Usually, if it's a silver faced figure I just touch it up with a little metallic silver sharpie and then it looks like new, but Unicron's face is this odd off white color so that's not going to work. Has made doing his gallery frustrating.

I got my 2010 Unicron today from tfsource, after a long inventory delay. I must say I love it, but infuses the hype was greater than the actual figure. I simply just replaced my Armada version with the new one and kept on moving. Again it's great, but I wish they'd have done that washed look over the entire figure not just the arms.

Lot of pegwarmers in the Rockford area. The shelves are filling up with WFC Prime and BB...they just aren't selling. The WalMart on State St got three cases of Wave 2 HFTD deluxes last Friday and they are all gone already, but the WFC figures just sit there and gather dust. I have a really bad feeling about that...
It finally happened. The Chicago Cubs won the World Series. Yes, I cried.

Did you look closely at its face? Are there any paint chips on the tip of his nose or the tips of his beard or right in the middle of his "brows"?

The paint jod on his face is flawless. No scrapes at all. I do hate when you get a imported figure with QC issues. It's not like you can go to Target or Walmart and do an exchange. My crystal animated Roddy's face paint is slightly off center, so his nose looks funny. Also my Wing Blade Prime's hammer is loose (sounds so wrong), so it spins like a propeller.

Yeah, it's crazy how long the 1st wave of everything has been sitting on the shelves. It's practically like Tuner Mudflap all over again, but with everything from Wave 1.

KMart Des Plaines had 4 of the "Victory of the Fallen" Legends sets. Their shelf is not marked w/ a price, and the scanner is about 100 yards away, so I didn't get a proce, sorry. They actually look pretty good, I might get that set on clearance.

Just seen a BUNCH of Generations Red Alert, Darkmount, WFC Megatron and Soundwave at the Wal-Mart in Charleston...ALL for $9. And by bunch, I mean it looked like 2-3 cases worth of them.

Hello fellow Illinoisan! Charleston is way down state from us. Hope to hear from more of you further down state. Thank you for sharing your sightings with us.

Did you get any of the new figures that you saw at your Walmart?

Oh, absolutely! I needed all four of those guys, and I've been impatiently waiting on them.

On a tangent, I also stopped off at the comic shop in town just before that and I'm paying on a box of vintage loose G1 figures (Thunderwing, Soundwave, Axer, PM Prime, Slag, headless Swoop, 4/5 of the Combaticons)...friggin awesome day.

Crystal Lake TRU has four Animated Rodimus Primes, three Ironhides, two WFC Soundwaves, and a bunch of Generations Red Alert. Finally nabbed a Darkmount there, the last one.

Algonquin Target has one WFC Megatron, and more figures from Wave 2 of HFTD. Algonquin Walmart had squat. A lot of empty pegs, so hopefully that means new stuff will get put out there soon.

Wal-Mart on State in Rockford has had squat now for four weeks. Empty pegs everywhere. THey have also sold out of the PCC 5 packs and I'm seeing more fly off the shelves elsewhere too. Of note is that the toy dept employee I talked to said they have one more mini-mod before the Christmas season so maybe new stuff comes then...
It finally happened. The Chicago Cubs won the World Series. Yes, I cried.

No, I want to stay married. :P But seriously, it's a long, long shot, but my brother is into antique toys and such, I might try to go with him, leave my kids with his and his wife. Not very likely tho, but I'll let you know if it happens.

The show is really hit or miss, but it's a large show ... mostly "toys" in general, not necessarily action figure or Transformers related stuff. Lots of dolls. Lots of older stuff. But you never know what you'll see at the show. Some times when I've been there, there have been dealers selling a ton of old school G1 MIB Transformers, loose Transformers, one year there was a dealer that had nothing but late G2 stuff, a few times I've seen dealers there just selling Battle Beasts, another time there was a dealer selling just MIB Japanese Transformers which is where I got my last Star Saber MIB figure from way back 8 years ago this show. It's hit or miss for real. Sometimes it's incredibly awesome, sometimes it's incredibly lame.

The show is 3 times a year ... once in April, once in June and once in October.

Here's some more information about the show ...
