Tomy Takara has released the Transformers Alternity Megatron Diamond Black Version. This version is a repaint version of Transformers Alternity Megatron (Silver & Blue Version).

Japanese blogger アルフェス2010 has uploaded a gallery of Transformers Alternity Megatron Diamond Black version on his blog.

I wish it was a different character, the Fairlady is one of my favorite cars. Not bad I guess, but the bot mode's a little weird, and the head mold's not close enough to Megatron for my liking. That, and I don't like the concept of Megatron as a car in general.

It's a shame Hasbro won't be releasing the Alternity toys, stick a different head on there and paint it white and red, and you've got a pretty nice Drift, what with the twin swords and all.

QFT. I'd actually also suggest a skeletal head to make a nice Alternity Bludgeon...

I really like this mold - it's far superior to Alternity Prime but I really dislike this repaint. The black seems to look messy, the orange and gold cheap and the choice of what colours go where, wrong.

Yeah I'm thinking of picking one up and customizing it into Bludgeon. I'm not interested in the Alternity line in general but I'm getting Bee & Cliff for my Alternator display and now this? If they are cool on any level, I'm screwed! :lol:

I like this repaint! The Megatron mold is very good aside from possible issues with the laterial swivel joint for the ankles(a poor choice of design for a joint that is vital to figure support, it should have been a ratchet joint or at least have support like Alternity Convoy's rear ankle pegs).

I like the combo of black/red-orange/copper. All three Alternity Megatrons have a good variety of colour schemes. I'm going to have to wait until I get a Diamond Black Megatron to see the colours in person to make final judgment because photography tends to mess up the appearance of colours. I do love the colour scheme. It's the most "samurai-ish" of the three colour schemes.

Seeing as Vibrant Red Convoy/Blade Silver Megatron are the "traditional" incarnations and Ultimate Silver/Premium Le Mans Blue are the "BT World"(though PLMB Megatron's colour scheme looks like a G2 Hero Megatron homage), if the pattern stays the same, I don't know what Diamond Black would be to match Super Black Convoy.

Hmm, I hadn't thought of Bludgeon. It could work, if you're okay with Bludgeon turning into a car. I prefer to keep some resemblance to the original alt mode.

I wouldn't be surprised if one of the Megatrons turns out to be a different character. Bludgeon indeed comes to mind, but another is also a good possibility: his clone Megaplex. Of course, the real one should be the black one, he's just awesomesauce.

If I have to get two versions of each mold (at least for Bumblebee and Cliffjumper), I will get him, no doubt in my mind. It helps that the Black Convoy is a different character in the fiction.

If the fiction is consistent for Diamond Black, I think it would be another iteration of Megatron because PLMB Megatron, the ring leader, wants to further the "Megatron Aggregate", which means he would only be looking for Megatrons. So with that in mind, I think Megaplex or another Mega-someone would be more likely than Bludgeon.

However, considering RotF Voyager Bludgeon's orange parts and then looking at Diamond Black's red-orange parts, especially the armoured skirt/kusazuri, the colour scheme seems well suited to Bludgeon, though replacing green with black.
