We have another teaser render from Hasbro licensee Imaginarium Art on their Facebook page, for another of their Transformers statues - and we're featuring another Cybertronian G1-esque reimagining of the grumpiest medic around (in some fiction): Ratchet!

Check out the image below, and you'll be unsurprised to find no crass oversexualisation in the figure this time round, just a fist, a gun, a grin, and a twist at the waist for the dynamic pose, though the absence of colours can't yet tell us if the crest and pattern will be the iconic, expected one. We'll update the story as soon as we have more information or a larger picture, so stay tuned!

This is just another observation and I don't know if anyone else has found the same thing, but it always seems to me like the designs for these statues look way busier before the colors are added. I wonder if that'll hold true for Ratchet too; since he's mainly white the detail might stand out more compared to Imaginarium's other colored statues.

I see some major differences there. Arcee was always shown as a robot with a feminine shape, but that statue is basically just a woman with body paint.

Not to mention, up to this point Imaginarium has been pretty consistently bulking up all of the characters and making them look considerably more robotic than their original designs. If this was how they did all of their statues it would still be weird but would at least be consistent; as it is, they specifically went against their own design conventions, apparently just to make this one particular design way oversexualised.

I'm kinda tired of the term "oversexualised". Because ANYTHING can be "oversexualised." Even a doorknob, if the beholder is pervert enough. By using that term too much for too many little things, the term lose all meanings.

What I can clearly see here and what everyone have a problem with is that she's NOT "oversexualised" (leave that to the Rouge promo-shots). No, she's too HUMANISED. As many point out, she's more a girl in cosplay than robot. To fix this would be pretty "simple". Bulk up her "bikini armor" and backpack. That's it. And then we will have a perfectly show accurate Arcee. The final touch would be to thiccer her up to turn her into a "snu-snu amazon" and make her joints more "robotic" so that she'll fit even better with the rest of the bulked-up imaginarium crew.

The chest is really the biggest departure from her usual designs. For the most part her chest is just a vaguely angular protrusion that gives a silhouette, but not much else since it has to form the front of the car mode. The statue has very clearly shaped breasts that couldn't form any part of a car (though it does bring new meaning to a car bra). If they sculpted the other characters like this they'd all look like men in spandex with tires hanging off them.

Yup. The "sexualized" part is irrelevant. It's the relative accuracy that matter.

Another way for Arcee to not be "sexualized" is to just give her more clothes.

Personally I couldn't give a damn, I won't be buying her because statues aren't my thing and I have neither the space nor money. Nice design though. I will say I'd like some more car kibble on her "mecha musume" style, but eh.

As for the "oversexualised" complaints, if this were intended for children I guess I'd understand? But as it's clearly meant for adult collectors I really don't see the problem. And honestly? It's not that extreme. Compared to other statues on the market available for other series it's pretty bloody tame. And really, is a fictional ancient alien robot being depicted as confident and sexually appealing (and clearly with no qualms about being sexually appealing) really that bad a thing?

If you don't like it that's fine, but I see no reason to get up in arms about it. Nobody is being hurt by this. There's no reason to pull an Allspark and throw an atomic hissyfit over it.

Courtesy of their official Facebook page, officially licensed Transformers statue makers Imaginarium Art have posted process images of their printing facilities, featuring the gigantic MEgatron statue that is currently in the works in their line of highly detailed display pieces.

You can see in the images below the grey prototype itself in its various components, assembled, the gruesome base by itself, and the printing machines that the company uses for the production! Check it all out, and let us know what you think in the Energon Pub.

Damn! That Megatron actually look pretty boss. And with it's size, it may be a 2000$+ statue that will cost 500$ more in shipping alone. Like that insane Starscream shown above. But if one have the money, space, and desire to have it then by all mean, go for it! I know I would if having the money and room to spare.

Wow, this looks amazing! The price tag will most likely put me off, along with my lack of space for it. Also, did he kill Ironhide? I don't know who else that is under him :-?
