Is Tea losing its edge?
Is Tea losing its edge?

I have seen Tea offered in some takeaway places (Mc Donalds have tea, but its milky water really!), but the menus are normally filled with the different coffee types (I lose track of how many ways you can have coffee now), so what is it bout coffee that makes it more preferable over Tea
Now this is what I've observed here in NZ, but what about you in other country's, what do you think, is tea becoming an oldies drink, even in the shops the types of coffee outweighs the amount of tea on the selves.
I should point out I like both Tea and Coffee, this is just an odd thought I had one evening.

Blargh, sugar? If you don't like the taste of tea, why drink it instead of polluting it?

Aha. well thats a whole different cup of tea, isn't it? If you're talking tea versus coffee, you're looking at HOT tea. I should've guessed you meant iced tea though. American and all...

Well I didn't mean green tea
But yeah I used to drink green tea a bit for its health benefits, though they've found black tea has some cancer fighting agents in it, but milk makes them useless apparently!

We go through 16 pints of milk in a matter of days here, that's just how much tea we drink

Wow...those poor English cows!
For me tea time is whenever I find a tea bag or have time.
Coffee - Whenever I have the appropriate creamers on hand at work (can't drink straight black) or whenever I have the money to go buy a cup. lol. I'm preferable on the iced coffees.
My drinking habits range from water to soda most of the time. My family's drink of choice is Diet Coke and I hate it. That's all we ever had when I was growing up. Sometimes my mom'd buy other kinds, but being as poor as we were, we were limited on the verit we were able to buy at a time. So it was that or tap...Egh! Recently though my Japanese obsession has leaked to my family. lol! Now it's tea, tea, tea. First is was Arizona Green Tea, then we discovered Milos. It's uber popular here in the south. You can buy huge jugs of it. We get the one w/ splenda in it. Not because it's better for you, it just tastes better.
All in all though, I'd much rather have some hot Chai...which reminds me...we have some!
