Anyone who watches any sort of comedy, knows who Leslie Nielsen is.

He is to movies what Weird Al is to music.

He makes funny spoofs of movies, tv shows, and popular culture.

Along with Jim Abrahams and David Zucker, they gave us the greatest spoof movies through the 80's and 90's.

From Airplane, to Police Squad, to Naked Gun(a movie continuation of police squad, complete with OJ Simpson as the ever haphazard Nordberg), to Surf Ninjas, to Dracula: Dead and Loving It, to Spyhard, to Mr.Magoo, to Wrongfully Accused.

Leslie Nielsen made us laugh, made us cry from laughing, and eventually made us piss ourselves due to laughing.

The inclusion of Leslie Nielson and Jim Abrahams in Scary Movie 3 and 4(Jim Abrams wrote the screenplays for Airplane, Police Squad, Hotshots, Top Secret! etc) made those two installations of "(Genre) Movie" not suck.

If you don't own any movies starring Leslie Nielson, you are a sad, sad individual.

Wow, you had me freaked for a moment there; I just watched "Forbidden Planet" this afternoon (not one of his comedies, but still)...

Yeah, I probably should have mentioned that a bit sooner.

But Leslie Nielsen is a great all around actor, I didn't include any of his serious work because people are more familiar with him as a comedian.

The best, perhaps only good line in Scary Movie 3:

Scary Movie 3 did a nice job on the sight-gags, like the sheriff's hat growing and growing.

You could tell it was a David Zucker movie. David Zucker being the other cohort to Jim Abrahams when it came to spoof movies.

I love it when they play 'Forbidden Planet' around Halloween. One of my favorite movies. Robbie the Robot is in it too!!!!

His Airplane and Police Squad spoofs are the best.

I could quote Airplane and Airplane II all night. They are classic comedy spoof... spoofs now are pretty lame in comparison.

There is one scen from the second Naked Gun movie that is the funniest thing I had ever seen.

I seen this movie in the theater and when this was shown my brother literally fell out of his seat laughing and I just could never forget that

Anybody here ever seen Police Squad the origionsl TV show that the movies came from?

Most of the stuff in the movies were done on the small screen

A friend had them recorded on VHS tape when we were little.

I ended up buying the DVD release of the show when it came out. Haven't gotten around to watching them yet.

They're currently showing it on Comedy Central Germany, I think that's the first time it ever showed over here. :shock:

I just love em, the way they pretend it's all normal, the end credits are awesome too, with the "stills" :lol:

Was watching Scary Movie 3 today on tv. Nielsen's performance is what pushed it from being funny to "holy sh*t!" LMFAO hilarious.

Everything he says and does in it is an instant memorable scene.
