SFXPrime wrote:It looks like the next film will based mostly in space which would be super cool! Hopefully they put at least one actual female Autobot in it. I can totally see Windblade next to Drift since they both share that Japanese theme. My mind would be blown if she was also a triple changer like Drift. She can be a V-Tol aircraft, a black and red Lamborghini Egoista, and her robot mode. I would totally love to have Maggie Q voice her! She has an incredible voice.

I did have a similer idea for Windblade to show up sometime in the future movies too.I mean it can be a good way to introduce a major fembot character in the movies and not botch it up like with the bike sisters in ROTF as well as show a nice way for her to interact with the other Autobots as being among the more empathetic Autobot on the team. As for her voice actress who could voice her I think either Ming-Na-Wing who did Mulan and Karai in the 2003 TMNT or Sumalee Motano who did Arcee in Prime may be a good fit for her.

G1 never really died.

Also fans would love more characters from the transformers perspective which would mean a ton of human and robot character development. This film would also be hated on. Why? Easy it would be a solid 3 and half hour film. There's a reason the tv series gets high praises. More episodes to flesh it out perfectly.
I think this would be the easiest "hate" to fix. It could go the same route as the original Star Wars trilogy, or LoTR and The Matrix a while ago, or even The Hunger Games nowadays. Make it a 2-parter. Leave a nice cliffhanger making the people wanting more, and still get all the necessary story and action in at the same time.

That said if hasbro want to make direct to DVD transformers movies based on the IDW stuff the be my guestjust don't do All Hail Megatron...

Believe it or not the 86 film became a cult hit in the 90's due to the soundtrack and violence.

That wouldn't be a bad idea actually. The movie toys rely on the movie to move them. Once the initial rush to the cinemas is over, people lose interest.
Have animated movies (or even just an on-going cartoon) that tie-in with the movie would help keep pushing the toys. It would get the toys moving and give the fans what they want, a chance to have the robots more "fleshed out".

Archanubis wrote:Personally, I enjoyed the new film, even thought it was better than the first live-action film. That said, I haven't seen Dark of the Moon yet, so I can't judge AOE compared to that one. I do think the Dinobots didn't have enough screen time (especially considering how much Grimlock and Strafe have dominated the advertising), but we do have another movie coming, so there's a chance they'll be more fleshed out then. Drift as a Triple Changer was a pleasant surprise; only question is why Hasbro hasn't made a Triple Changing Drift toy.

Those would also be excellent choices for her voice as well. For some reason, I just feel that Windblade can fit in well in this movie verse. They can even make her a bit more samurai when it comes to fight scenes.
zerozep wrote:First time poster, I loved the movie, though I thought they were going to do more lore which I would have liked, the only thing I didn't like about the movie is that it didn't separate itself enough from the other three which it could have with more dinobot info..oh well...but question...the conversation between prime and longshot about the ship, longshot said the name and prime said he desecrated it and something about how it was used to explore, I didn't recognize any of that, should I have? The knights and the swords?

Yeah or maybe have her look a little like a ninja so she won't be just copying Drift's already strong Samurai motiff but still has her Japanese design elements in there.
Also maybe she can be joined by a bulky and strong fembot friend of her as a homage to her friendship with Chromia in her IDW miniseries as one who's tougher and more aware of the darker aspects in life whereas Windblade still hasn't gotten a grasp on how other alien worlds are like. That alone can make for a pretty interesting arc for her in a future movie as an Autobot who's just trying to fit into Earth with the other remaining Autobots while at the same time try to cope with the realty with knowing that Cybertron is dead and that she needs to confirm with a new way of life. She can develop a bond with Drift as well who may likely understand what she's going through.

SlyTF1 wrote:It just dawned on me that the Dinobots in this movie are kind of like the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. 4 badass legendary knight dudes set loose at the threat of extinction. Optimus broke 4 cages to set them free. And there were supposed to be what, 7 Dinobots in the movie? Maybe they were there and Optimus just didn't break them out, or were in Lockdown's main ship, or something.
