Remember the old GI Joe episode where Dusty (IIRC) was branded a traitor? Everyone else already prejudged him as a having sold out to Cobra, all except Duke (who was conviniently in a coma like Prime)who really knew the real story/ Maybe IDW is also following that story thrust.
Already late but where the heck did Reflector come from? They were supposedly deactivated in Spotlight:Wheelie., or there are many Reflector clones like the Insecticons?

Spotlight: Wheelie supposedly takes place a while after what is going on now.
Presumably, the Autobots nearly being wiped out is why no one really sought to find Wheelie.

I remember that episode, I was just thinking about it the other day. I remember when he was in Cobra ranks they were losing a battle and Dusty said, "Looks like Cobra is getting their fangs kicked in" and the other Cobra guys got pissed.

Hilarious.
That's probably the most entertaining thing there is to do in their present state. As for the traitor, doubt it's Mirage, that would be way too obvious. Will probably be somebody out of left field.
I'm guessing it's Drift or (somehow) Double Dealer

Not that it counts for much, but McCarthy has said that Drift will not be a dues ex machina or any kind of "hi and die" character, so that more or less rules him out as being the traitor.
I wonder if Hotrod was the traitor, if he sold out Prime in the hopes that he would be obliterated and that he could take over?

And seriously if this is in the Furmanverse cannon, why didn't the Autobots use the Magnificence to see this coming? IDW forcing Furman to use the Magnificence macguffin is going to have repercussions for a while to come, since it knows everything. (Guess it needs to be destroyed somehow).

Re: All Hail Megtron #4 Discusion Spoilers
If the traitor isnt Mirage then I dont think he is on Cybertron. I dont believe it is Drift or Hot Rod or Prowl, etc. Traitors either join the other side or expect some kind of reward. Im pretty sure the Decepticons didnt follow through with whatever promises and that Autobot is now in the wind so to speak
The Magnifence was such a powerful McGuffin that barring a highly ranked Autobot turning it is the only known thing in the Furman-verse that could cause a galactic scale defeat and probably near extinction of the Autobots.
Im not sure people are grasping what galactic scale means. It means that in one simultaneous attack the Autobot lost every planet, sector, system, base, etc that they had and are now on the run without supplies or any real ability to communicate with survivors.
Ask yourself what could one lone Autobot do to cause all that without the Magnificence?

What about Beachcomber? He was being controlled by Soundwave once before, who's to say he's not still being controlled.
EDIT: Or maybe Blurr. We don't know the story for the spotlight yet. It seems like IDW Blurr will do anything for the spotlight.

Re: All Hail Megtron #4 Discusion Spoilers
So are we thinking Magnus, Jetfire or Fortress for the traitor then MYoung? Those are the 3 highest ranking bots that arent Prime that I can think of, and all of them know about the Magnificence. Other than those 3, Prime and Hot Rod, who else knows about the Magnificence?
Additionally that's a solid point you make regarding the Magnificence, it could easily turn the tide of battle completely to the Decepticons, the only other substance/item would be ultra energon, but we all know that AHM ignores it's very existence.
You'd think that any traitor would be smart enough to not return to the Autobot ranks, risk vs. reward would make it very unattractive.
Why do I get the feeling that after all this speculation and thinking, that the answers we are given in AHM will disappoint?

Re: All Hail Megtron #4 Discusion Spoilers
Im really at a loss about who it could be. Mirage is too obvious considering his Spotlight and is probably a red herring.
One problem in trying to figure who is that we dont really know how the Autobots are really structured. Ultra Magnus is like a US Marshall, Jetfire is the Lab Geek, Prowl is the middle management beaurocrat, Springer apparently leads the Wreckers or was he just 2nd in command while Kup was out of commission? We know that each anti-Infiltration Unit has a squad commander but that's about it.
This uncertainty leads me to believe that the Magnificence is involved somehow.
I dont think it is Hot Rod. Time has passed since the end of Revelation and I think since after co-ordinating the attack on the Dead Universe that the Autobots would have put The Maginificence in as secure a place they could find.
Hmmm
Since The Maginificence is essentially a piece of technology I would find it hard to believe that the Autobots didnt have Jetfire study it since he was allowed to study Pretender and Combiner technology.
It is all guesswork now. I dont think we have enough information to lead anywhere solid.

sorry for joining the party late just read the issue last night. I loved the issue, loved how some of the bots have taken on their universe toy molds and have battle damage, loved the speculation about who's the traitor, and loved cliffjumper who stole the issue... perfect interpretation of the character.
my theories are as follows... i agree with whoever mentioned the dusty idea... i think it's obvious mirage is ironhide's prime suspect but it's not going to be him who's the traitor, it will be someone unexpected, or it will all be one big misunderstanding and their really won't be a traitor. also in terms of the magnificence , who's to say the autobots still have it? what if the traitor gave it to the cons or they stole it and coupled with the ultra energon used it to wipe the floor with the autobots?

Again off topic..........if Spotlight: Wheelie occurs post AHM then I've a feeling who kicked the Autobot's butts into defeat........the Quintessons. Remember the last panel in the Wheelie comic? Who else could have pulled this off and probably framed Mirage or some unwary Autobot or deliberately mislead Megatron with false information.

i dont know, i feel like we would have seen some other sign of the quints by now if they had any major involvement in ahm... plus the quints wouldn't just hit the autobots and leave the cons to seize power. i have a feeling the quints are going to be the next big thing after AHM and maximum dinobots.

Re: All Hail Megtron #4 Discusion Spoilers
I think the Quintessons are a seed planted for use down the road for future stories like Gorlan Prime/New Cybertron.
Except for glimpses into the past the Furman-verse seems to be planted in the present and near future not jumping main storylines so far into the future.
I dont think it was Beachcomber either. After the Autobots discovered tiny Bombshell I think they would have had Beachcomber thoroughly checked out and then created some kind of countermeasure to keep it from happening to one of them again.
But then again, Nightbeat was kidnapped and was implanted as a sleeper agent by Jhiaxus and no outside of Nightbeat and his own investigative instincts were none the wiser that anything was amiss.

This series sounds very interesting, although I haven't read any of it. TF comics are hard to find where I live but I'll have to find a way to get some soon.
They have to be a lot more exciting than the IDW Botcon Panel, for sure.

Re: All Hail Megtron #4 Discusion Spoilers
I just now got to read all 4 issues...
I haven't been keeping up with all the online talk about this series, infact the only thing i read was that it was definitely supposed to be part of the larger continuity...
right.
From years of reading comic books I laugh when I hear that.
This series has all the markings of either an alternate universe that briefly ends up interacting with the prime universe (probably thru Mirage, given his Spotlight) or something that gets completely reset via some divine intervention.
all that aside I'm finding this series more enjoyable than all the -ation series, and certainly better than the letdown that was Revelations.
It's nice to see what the Cons are really capable of when they don't have to be 'written down' so that the Bots can always win
