An observation and question

There is more to Transformers than movies, cartoons, comics and toys. Discuss anything else Transformers here.

I have a small walk-in closet and it's filled with TF boxes and 5 plastic storage bins for figures without boxes. 19 years of collecting will do that to you. You'd also be amazed at the number of awestruck people who see my room.

The movie did that to a lot of people apparently. I bought one of each character from the movie (deluxe and voyager). Then I really started collecting as much as I could. I quickly filled an entire IKEA shelf.

I needed to get those things out in the living room, for display and playing purposes. If done right, the displays can look really nice as part of the house, instead of something hidden hidden away.

I have started to rotate the collection though. They don't all fit on one shelf anymore.
Check out my collection!

Well, what happened with a lot of collectors was that up until the movie they had not been collecting for a while so the movie caused their collections to get a substantial boost. I've never really stopped collecting. I intend to one day be able to display everything without having to rotate too, but that won't be until I get a house of my own with a good sized basement hopefully.

I had a first last night. After verbally abusing my collection one night while partying at my house, a buddy of mine sent me text last night to ask if I had a figure. He was in TRU and saw they had some TF's that he didn't remember seeing on the shelf.

While he was busy busting my nuts he must have been re-living his own childhood. NICE!

Excuse me while I ROFL at that statement. I've seen a few people who have acted that way, and it's always a hoot.

Once I ran an Anime festival with over 6,000 attendees. Now... not so much.

Supportive and slightly amused. Generally, when they're on display it's only in the Man Cave, which is well away from any entertaining areas, so visitors aren't subjected to Creepy Kiddie Toy Collector syndrome.

Part of it might also be that she's into far more fandoms than I am, and I am a very picky collector. After 25 years, I've only just broken into triple digits, and I can fit my entire collection into a single bookcase. In addition, we each have a lot of other hobbies which take up even more space, so it's not as if I'm stuck with the label of That Transformer Guy.

I can fully understand that people might get weirded out walking into a house where every wall is floor-to-ceiling Transformers (or any other one thing, for that matter). Diversity is the way to go.

Great point. We are into a lot of different things, so our stuff is always out (snowboards, motorcycle helmets sports equimpment).
