I disagree with how "established" that idea was.

They never really said that "most" TF's dont need ships to travel trew interstellar space.

For all we know they arrived in our solor system by ship and used those "cocoons" for local space travel and planetary land fall.

While they never said it in the movies they didn't have to. We've seen how they travel threw space as "astroids" or some times other different things such as Megatron's jet mode.

And any speculation of a ship being hidden out in space is preddy much shot dead by the fact that the wrighters have stated in interviews that they thought it was stupid to have a ship for robots who can become ships which is why they invented the idea of their entry modes in the first place. That's actully one of their ideas that I liked untill Animated came up with a better idea.

A] we only saw them travel trew "local" space in those cocoons....so the idea of them traveling trew interstellar space in big ships is still valid.

B] we actually never saw Megatron travel trew space in the first film and he only traveled "locally" in the second.

C] Nothing you just said, or what or anything the writers may have said, effect the speculation of TF's having a ship.

As I have pointed out to you many times before, interviews and statement from writers or any of the production staff are not canon and the info in them is subject to being altered to fit any future story they may want to tell.

And I dont doubt that the writters may have said what you claim, but its funny that the Novelization of the first film makes refrance to TF's arriving in our space in ships.Now I'm not sure if the Novel was completly writen by the same writers as the script but surly it was based on their script.

I'm not exactly sure how derailed it can get when we're still on the subject of the leaked script vs. the real one but OK.
