For a "Intro to Film" class I took a few years ago, we had to choose a movie and write an essay by answering ten of a possible twenty-five questions. I chose TF:TM and wrote about the many connections of it to human nature.

I discussed how it connects to the human religions, but not in a way that it influences human spirituality because it doesn't as well as other matters such as how the Autobots are socialists and the Decepticons are fascists.

For some people, anything that doesn't glorify their deity of choice is a direct slight against everything that they hold dear and will be the downfall of society. But history has had these kinds of people for EONS. guess what? comic books didn't kill religion. rock and roll didn't do it. tv didn't do it. video games haven't done it.

large groups of intelligent people that seem to be cropping up and finding their voices seem to be making a small dent, but i doubt we'll see an end to religion anytime in our lifetime.

ehh, some people just need to get a life, and start living it, instead of worrying so darn much about whatever comes next.

love the clerks references. Ya know if everybody just had respect for others, allot of these kinda hot button issues would not be a problem. I respect those that came forward to say they were Christian and didn't give in to the things spewed by whoever decided to say such things about a cartoon series, you give me hope yet. Its just groups like these that really drive me nuts.

To be honest, people like this are only trying to scare people into buying into church stuff more than non-church stuff so they can have the corner market on anything they're advertising wether it be craptastic movies like the Omega Code or Noah's ark toys & bible characters action figures for kiddies....that & so they can scare more people into the seats at those mega-churches....

.... & the more people in the seats, the more money goes into the offering plate....

the simplicity of the Cybertronian theology means little in the larger scope and holds little sway over the larger picture.

I'm a Christian minister and I have to chime in and apologize for whatever ignorance this is coming from. People REALLY need to do their homework before they start bashing (or suppporing) things.

Just because a movie is violent and has adult themes *GASP*, doesn't make it "non-Christian." The last I remember, the Christian faith has a book that deals with the same types of issues. Maybe if people would pick up their Bibles and actually read them for a change instead of going to potlucks all of the time, they might know what they're talking about. That being said, the actual instances of each and any of those need to be carefully examined. If persons were good theologians and anthropologists to begin with, they're be less problems.

However on the same token, I'd recommend not letting a few bad apples spoil the whole basket. I'm sorry if narrow-minded, uninformed people influence anyone to steer clear of Christianity. But that's about like saying that since I don't like the movie Swindle toy, I'm not going to buy any TF movie toys or another toy as long as I live. I'm definately not pointing fingers (because I know that when I do I have 3 pointing back), but I've met people all too often that didn't like the carpet in the church so they just don't want anything to do with church or Christianity. *shrugs*

Long story short: if someone is trying to find a problem, they're more than likely going to find it, even if they have to make it up.

Personally speaking, I find it easier to discover a lot more Christian elements within the Transformers lore than not. What a shocker!/sarcasim

besides, just cause aliens altered the DNA of apes in order to create a semi intelligent slave race, which it then found boring and left them to their own devices, does not in any way mean that god (big g) can't exist.

I don't see how atheists are even a factor. They don't believe in God, so presumably they don't believe in the Devil either. Therefore they have no stake.

And big up to SQuad! If I were a Christian and lived anywhere near you, I'd so be at your church. As it is, I'm not, and I don't, so I won't. But I would.

If you're going to burn, it's going to happen for a lot of other reasons than watching a movie about Transformers....like rejecting God's offer of salvation through Jesus Christ.

I realize that he's being sarcastic. My comment was made more out of concern for the unbeliever than the believer.
