I stopped playing just before the NGE, and am playing a trial atm before i decide whether to resub and i have a few questions:
1) My char is lvl 66, what is the best way to level and where to i get quests? Is it worth starting a new char?
2) Before the NGE i enjoyed playing as a rifleman/carbineer, which is the proffesion most like this? I want to be a sniper again
3) How powerful are jedi compared to their pre-NGE and pre-CU states?
thanks in advance

I used to play galaxies. Unfortunately it's not a very good MMO, they've wiped and redone the whole character creation thing more times than I can count.
And aside from that, stuff didn't look good visually, and to top things off, it was pretty boring. Go off into the desert, start mining, go watch TV for an hour, repeat.
The only really good feature for SWG was the space combat, butthen why pay monthly when theres Rogue Squadron.

Well i like it now, it seems more structured with quest lines, it feels like SW WoW, which i know some people will hate but it is nice to play now...simpler...although the inclusion of jedi as a starter is dumb, but then again so are jedi in this game altogther
As for the Space stuff, well aside from the lack of structure and mission variety, i think it is far better that Rogue Squadron, feels like a better version of XWA, just wish it felt a little more involved, more of a story line outside the squadron stuff
i just cant decide what to do with my lvl 66 char, dont know whether to go BH (closest to Rifleman) or Jedi (coz its a jedi), if i resub then ill start either a BH or jedi depending what i do with my main

I used to play until 2 weeks after CU and jumped to GW until LOTRO came out (which is a far better game IMO with a lot of promise in future expansions). heck the only thing keeping LOTRO from being perfect is the PVP and the inability to have a monster as a primary char aside special monster play. I know Sauron's side loses but I'll give SOE credit, they at least made it possible to join the Empire depsite the fact it loses.
I just couldn't get into the new system. It was broken and they insisted on fixing it in live. While some of the "Yes sirs" will claim the original system was beyond repairing, that isn't true. The original staff said it was fixable. Proper programming would have balanced it completely. Jedi were arguably the most powerful pre-CU in PVE yet the requirements for new skills was harder to achieve without serious grinding, which in turn became a nuiscance for those grinding in the Squill caves stuck with the brunt because osme greedy jedi was tkaing the kills and showing no intent of sharing (very un-jedi-like.) In PVP you had to be a Jedi Master to stand a chance in PVP against BH's.
Personally, I think the game is beyond any point of being fixed. There hasn't been expansions in over 2-3 years because they chose to focus on thier precious "bait and switch combat system changing tactics." They'd be better off putting a bullet in the game and letting another companey make SWG2 but base it in the time period of the Sith Wars where they'll have more creative freedom and not be constrained by the movies.
