Well, it finally happened. In order to clear room in the starting rotation with the return of Kenny Rogers, Tigers traded Mike Maroth to the Cardinals for a player to be named later.

Alright, tonight it's Mr. "Cy Young" Santana vs. Mr. "No-No" Verlander as the Twins take on the Tigers. Go Tigers!

Alex Rodriguez just hit his 500th homerun off of Kyle Davies of the Royals in the first inning. He is the youngest player to reach that milestone.

Since Fox has to have control on what we watch when we aere out of market I only just caht it on a replay

Congrats to A-Rod! I hope he passes Barry Bonds' home run record soon. I'm sure A-Rod has 10-15 more homers in him this season.

Speaking of Bonds, he tied Aaron's record last night. And yet I find myself indifferent to the whole home run chase thing.

They should have made some trades at the deadline.

Bonds and everything that has to do with him in my opinion is a joke. I feel it is obvious he has used performance enhancing drugs. I also think the commisioner of baseball knows something he is not telling at the moment. Poop on you Bonds.

Yankees still have a chance. The bats are getting hot at the right time. Now if they can just get some consistent pitching. I also wonder if the rumors of the team being for sale are true.

The Yankees play Clevelend next week which should prove interesting because the Indians are a few games ahead of them

Yeah, it's so funny how Sportscenter, Baseball Tonight, and Fox hype it up.

And the commisioner's face when Bonds hit 755 - I think one of the Baseball Tonight's analyst said it best when he said he looked like he was going to visit the dentist or something.

He did call A-Rod though and congratulated him but said nothing to Bonds

Also A-Rod,Griffey and Willie Mays called Bonds to congratulate him but Aaron said nothing also

Well, now that Bonds has passed Aaron, maybe he'll retire. Probably get up to about 770 or so by the end of the season I figure. Then with a little luck, in 2013, we'll see A-Rod break it and perhaps pass 800. Just my two cents on the subject though.

Now I'm just hoping the media will leave it alone...yeah, that's a good hope...

There should be an * next to Bonds' record. Hank Aaron did without 'roids, Bonds needed them to. Damn shame, too. Hopefully a real player(A-Rod) will smash his record in two soon. Bonds, along with Sosa, McGuire, Canseco, and any others busted for 'roids are disgrace to baseball.

Canseco is pointing a finger A-Rod's way too now, just like he did Palmeiro, Pudge, and others.

It does seem tainted, but you have to realize he hasn't been proven guilty, and one of our founding principles in America is "Innocent until proven guilty". I think that John Kruk put it well enough, he said, "Right now, I can tell my kids I played with the best player in baseball. If something changes I can always backtrack, that's the good thing about this, but for now."

You have to admit, 'roids or not, he has to have quite a lot of talent to be as good as he was, play as long as he has, and get the hits (not just homers) that he has.

If Willie Mays believes him, how can you not?

BTW, thank god the Tigers got off the losing schnide (for now), they lost just long enough to keep making it interesting.

That shrunken part was the best part of the post. The media coverage is likely why most wanted this to happen already.

At least it is over and no more Bonds watch crap. I still feel this record is tainted now and that the commisioner of baseball knows something.

What's funny about this is that a team like the Nationals gets to be seen on national tv. How many National games have ESPN or Fox broadcasted before this?

The media won't let this rest for a while for two big reasons. The ongoing investigation, and his formers mistress's soon to be released tell all book. Which sucks, I'm a die hard sports radio talk show junkie. They talk about Bonds nonstop, its killing me.
