are there any female collectors amongst us?

There is more to Transformers than movies, cartoons, comics and toys. Discuss anything else Transformers here.

I think I will leave before FB shows up.

You know you won't be able to resist peeking in to see what happens. ;;)

I so don't want to be you know. What assassination attempt is this? 8? 9ish?

We'll always be curious as to whether female fans exist, and whether they post here. It just seems like something you wouldn't expect them to do. I still think it's, for want of a better word, weird. You don't expect for em to be here, but they are... :-?

It's these and all the other threads like this one that shows us how diverse the TF fandom really is.

Well, most girls have zero interest in this stuff. But I've always preferred boy shows, though I'm no tomboy. There isn't a mold you have to fit in to enjoy Transformers. For me, it's the passion that people have for it that I find so cool. Some people just think it's stupid toys, but for the fans, it's so much more.

I'm pretty girly, so it comes as a surprise when people find out how geeky I really am. I outgeeked a comic book store owner, for goodness sake. And yes, Starscream rules.

I know what you mean! I'm not really girly but I certainly not a tomboy either. I'm pretty notorious for jumping into geeky conversations and people are always like "You don't seem like someone who would know anything about this!" It's fun

Add another female to the pile, though I've always been a tomboy and was always fascinated by the TF toys. I never got to have them as a kid, so the obvious thing to do is buy all the seekers I want now. <3 jets.

I don't know why people assume there are no female fans. I think this might be the case with the younger bunch as their is no hugely popular cartoon to back up the toys with.

I think the younger ones here don't realize just how HUGE Transformers were in the 80's. Ebveryone was bananas for them. My sister is a huge fan and comes over all the time to scope out what I have as we played with TFs all the time as kids. I don't think a girl could have been friends with a boy without having played with them.

Or G.I. Joe or He-Man. One of those three.

Despite what My avatar might (Or might not) suggest, I'm definitely a guy.

It's no shocker to me that there are female Transformers fans. Why do you think Arcee and Black Arachnia were so successful when they were introduced?

Well, I can definitely say that my wife is a big time Transformers fan. Her first was Energon Arcee, but hopefully she will add more to her collection. She is still looking for a G1 Bumblebee. Her favorite character is by far Optimus Prime, and she was so happy when she heard his original voice used in the new film, she had to see it when it came to theatres! And she loved that prime used his energon axe too. She is however disappointed that Bumblebee was not a VW bug, and I agree. We only own the animated TF movie, no episodes yet, but we watch it at least once a week.

Transformer collectin' girl

Postby [Lady Starscream] » Thu Aug 02, 2007 6:31 am

I've always loved Transformers since I was five... I never really liked most of the cartoons that were girl-orientated since they tended to be dumbed down or too sugary sweet (strawberry shortcake, Gem, my little pony, etc.) I was always into the boy shows like He-man, Thundercats, Voltron, and of course Transformers. I don't think this is all that odd, I have a lot of freinds that are also into transformers too. I think a lot of girls are like me and thought it was an awesome show.

I just recently got back into Transformers since the release of the movie. My husband bought all 4 seasons of G1 on DVD and is now conteplating buying Transformers Armada so we can continue to watch more Transformers.

Eh, I don't remember Transformers back in the 80s. :( By the time the 80s ended I was only five. So I missed it. But I do remember others like Ninja Turtles. I was just as much into girl cartoons like Ponies and Care Bears as I was boy cartoons. That's how I am in life- half and half (not hermaphrodite--so don't even say it!!). The movies I watch are usually guy movies but I like girly magazines and like nice purses and pretty clothes. I like my Cosmo as much as my comics....well, maybe I like my comics a little more.

Oooh...is it ok for boys to watch that? Just kidding. My husband admits to liking Care Bears as a child. I think kids will usually just watch whatever cartoon happens to be on. My little kid does.
