Cyber Bishop wrote:Sonray wrote:You suspended tramp for expressing his opinion?
As far as i saw he never broke any TOS rules, he never swore or flamed anyone or baited them, he just wouldnt shut up about something that wasnt a pressing issue that hadnt had a mod step in prior to tell people to shut up about, so why did you suspend him?
If anything the other guy should be suspended for calling him an "arsehole", that alone beats anything tramp may have done.
Im not really trying to stand up for tramp here as he gets on my nerves too but i cant ignore the fact that i did not see him break any TOS rules here.
Seems like you just suspended him cos you can...
I suspended him because I had a mountain of complaints about him and his "I am right" attitude. He refused to respect others opinions and argued constantly.
I don't care what you saw or if you agree with it quite frankly, I and other staff are the ones that got the PM complaints about him not you.
I suspended him because we (the taff) have had enough of his constant arguing with everyone that did not see his point..
If you don't like it then I am sorry.
End of story.

Even in the comics and such, Before Megatron created the Decepticon faction, all Cybertronians were considered Autobots. They're the "default" element of the Cybertronian society. This is mentioned on page 3 of MtMtE #8.
Re-he-ealy...do you remember when MTMTE didn't exist? I do and seeing as Dreamwave went under screwing several revered TF artist and writers over in the process the Dreamwave continuity is null and void and no longer considered canon.

Leonardo wrote:I don't think Bay did "get this wrong". In this continuity, it makes sense that they were all originally Autobots and that the Decepticons were a splintered-off faction. Prime implies this. That may not be how it was in other continuities but it works for this one. It's implied in the movie itself (and in issue #1 of the prequel comics).

Well the sensible answer to that is the Autobot race is at war, a civil war. The Autobot and Decepticon insignia were designed to indicated what faction you were fighting for. Think of them more as part of their uniform than thier 'skin'. As we saw in the movie these TFs can change ther altmode and robot mode at whim, erasing or changing a small detail like a faction badge would be effortless.

Auto Bot wrote:But in this movie's continuity, Autobot is a specie. NOT a faction. Only the Decepticons renege, and form its own faction. While the Autobots remains a specie, didn't downgrade itself into a faction.
It's not like America vs Japan, where each can carry their own flag at war. It's more like Human Race vs Japan. Japan has its flag, understandably. But should Human Race have its own flag as well? I'm sure we would carry the United Nations flag instead, but not a Human Race flag.
It is also the way the Dreamwave comics handled it as well. The "Autobots" were the default, the Decepticons splintered off from them. As for the faction symbols, apparently, they both descend from a more ancient emblem which was a combination of the two.Leonardo wrote:I don't think Bay did "get this wrong". Damolisher wrote:Yeah, it's like the Megatron Origin comics. They're shwing the Decepticons to be a renegade race. Kinda like... The renegades?
Regardless, Leonardo specifically asked if it was handled the same way in other continuities. I and Damolisher answered that question.Alex Kingdom wrote:Tramp wrote:It is also the way the Dreamwave comics handled it as well. Indeed but as has been pointed out time and time again that has nothing to do with the movie, the movie is a totally new continuity with a new background and new rules.

Yes he did, jusdt not in the form of a question. Here is his post (bold mine for emphasis).Alex Kingdom wrote:Tramp wrote:Regardless, Leonardo specifically asked if it was handled the same way in other continuities. I and Damolisher answered that question.
Ermmmmm...no he didn't.

He wasn't sure if it worked that way in other continuities. Therefore, a question is asked, and verification needed.Leonardo wrote: I don't think Bay did "get this wrong". I dont think you're quite gasping what I ment. What I am proposing is there was either no Autobot insignia untill the Deceptiocons begin the war or the Autobot insignia was a global insigina for the Autobot race. The Decepticons created their insignia to seperate themselves from the rest of the Autobots as an apposing faction. The remaining Autobots then adopted the Autobot insignia (be it new or otherwise) as a signifyer of their alliegence to the original values of the Autobot race. I supsect this would be mainly be for the practicality of avoiding getting themselves killed by friendly fire, much like human soldiers will were their flags, unit identifyiers and so during a war.
What you're best comparing it with is a civil war like the American Civil War for instance. The non-establisment faction of the nationality(or race) of America 'the Confederates' addopted the new Conferate flag, the establishment 'the Union' fought under the the original Union flag. The difference being the case of the Autobots it was a global civil war.

Magnanimous wrote:Hi guys (my first post). My question is if the Cybertonians are all autobots and the Allspark created life on Cybertron, why is it that on Earth the Allspark only seems to create Decepticons?
I apologize if this has been discussed before.

Im not going to argue with you becuase we dont want to see you banned again now do we? I'm sure Leonardo will be along later to set you straight. What you did was misunderstand his post, he wasn't asking a question, he was makling a statement. I know for a fact he knows all about how it was in other contiuinties and does not need you to tell him.

AK, dude, don't bother. If Tramp reads something one way, and interprets it, he's right, and everyone else is wrong. You can even bring up a quote that shows he's wrong, and he'll still argue with you. He has a morbid phobia of being wrong.
