It wasn't that bad, but I seem to hold everything from this franchise to the 86 Aliens movie. It was nice to see more action in it and will probably see it again as i just love the series as a whole. It does seem like the gestation period of the aliens is getting shorter with each film now, and I just love the little chestburster litter.

Holey **** that was messed up but so cool...wait that would make them stomach-busters
.I'm sad that Pred died
But at least he did not die in the claws of the Predalien. So what happend to the ELDER in the first film??
Most likely, he died. Probably got clobbered on impact during the crash if he didn't die beforehand, and then blew up when the hunter set the self destruct on the dead pred's wristband

Edit: Spoilers, beware all ye who enter!
That really wasn't the Predator's clan, he was just the first to get the message on the predator homeworld and respond to it.
Also, considering that the Yutani Corp was one of two major corporations in the AvP universe to start human colonization of other planets. It's safe to say they're going to reverse engineer the plasma-caster, use it to forward their own technological advancements, get space-travel going, and begin colonizing other planets.
Which in the 3rd AvP movie, should take place in space, and if it does. That means one thing. Space Marines vs Aliens vs Predator.
That will rock.

When I saw it, I thought "wow, they actually got the kid, and in the first 10 minutes," as for the chestburster, no I don't believe it would be smaller. Since they grow to their full stage after bursting from the chest anyway.

I was surprised that they included kids in the body count, most people won't touch child death with a ten foot pole. What was up with the pred destroying bodies with that blue acid stuff? The people were dead already their chestbursters were already gone. I could understand it if the aliens were still growing inside, but the Predators don't really strike me as the type to be concerned with hiding human kills. The ship and preds that crashed could destroyed to hide their presence.
At this point I'm really just nitpicking now.

Well, in Aliens, there were children casualties, they were just never shown on screen. AvP: R only slapped it on camera, it makes sense, it's not like a little kid is gonna be able to get away from a facehugger.
As for the blue stuff. A Predators first job is to take care of their own. The reason for the blue stuff was it removed all trace of aliens, predators and any humans that were killed by the aliens. Especially since Earth is a primitive world technological wise, and since they don't know about the Aliens or Predators, this would screw stuff up if they found out.
If someone found a body killed by an alien, started examining it, questions would be raised. The goo would be analyzed and found it was not anything from earth.
Basically the Predators messed up, so they went to clean up their mess.

Oh my bad.I think the PA found the pregnant women because they could supply more alien births.

Not bad... not bad at all. Much better then the first one and it gave off some good call backs to the old Predator and Alien movies.

Re: AVP R (NOW WITH POSSIBLE SPOILERS)
***SPOILERS***
Yeah, that blue stuff he was using ... before things got outta hand. He surely wanted to destroy all evidence, as already mentioned.
Then, he was like ... "Ahh, F it! This is getting too involved, so I'm gonna stick the rest of it in this aliens face and break its jaw."
I loved this movie, friggin great! AvP 1 was awesome too, but it did lack the level of horror that we're all used to from previous movies. This one recaptured that.
Even though the final battle was kinda interrupted, both the Pred/Predalien were screwed.
Predalien had been stabbed in the jaw, and up through his head ... while dripping all of that acid on the preds arms. Good thing that bomb hit, or it would've been quite ugly as to what transpired from that dilemma.

I didn't mind the first one. The rite of passage theme was sort of up my alley, actually, despite the shortcomings, and it gave the two races a very cool history together, not just some casual "we've met before" thing.
The only thing about the movie that really churned my stomach was the nursery. The ten-year-old death... eh, whatever. I really thought the kid would get away (as you said, no one wants to touch that) but it was realistic. And the dad's arm coming off... a throwback to Carl Weathers? Nice touch.
But the nursery... realistic the hospital would have a nursery. I just wished they hadn't included that whole bit myself. Just ignore it. They basically showed the alien seeing all these day-old babies as a smorgasbord. You don't see anything... but, as they say, sometimes it's worse that way. I've got a little one myself now, so my sensitivity to the subject just went up several million notches. It's hard to explain, but I hold one every day and see that kind of thing in a different light now; after all, I was just in a nursery two months ago. My mind can't help but draw the parallels now. I really didn't want to watch that scene or the one where the pregnant women got re-impregnated. Call me over-sensitive... a softy... whiney... whatever. That scene made me wretchedly uncomfortable to watch. I wish they'd left that out entirely. Anyone else?
I have no idea. I thought, like everyone, that he was covering his brothers' tracks. But he (and other Preds before him) hung skinned people by trees. So what was he covering up? Maybe it was an honour ritual. Some people deserved to be honoured by being melted...? Dunno.
I liked the movie (except for the spot above) but a couple of things: If they were evacuating the city, why hadn't they even started with the hospital? People were at least under the impression they were being evacuated. They hadn't even started step one.
Also... and this is just a nitpick: They were in a forest. Man, it woulda been cool to see deer aliens, snake aliens (you never know...), whatever else.

Re: AVP R (NOW WITH POSSIBLE SPOILERS)
For me, this movie wins the prize of Worst Movie I've Seen All Year. Seriously, I cannot believe how utterly horrible this movie was!
Ok, first, the child's death in the beginning. Ok, so yeah, he'd be killed. We get it. Made the audience uncomfortable. But to go back and not only have the kid watch his dad die, but then die himself?? WAS THAT NECESSARY TO SHOW!??!? I have two sons myself, and I can't handle that stuff unless there is a direct purpose. If you are going to have a child die in a movie, it better be very integral to the plot, have another character develop from it, etc. To have it, and of course the exploding pregnant women, simply to shock us was desperate and disgusting. Quite frankly, it was the nail in the coffin for this film.
But back to the other sh*t that made this film suck. In the first movie, they didn't have stupid loser teenybopper characters that I didn't give two sh*ts about, so what was the deal here? Honestly, I didn't care who lived or died. I didn't root for anyone. The ending was a mercy on the movie.
God, I'm mad at this movie. What an utter disappointment.

Re: AVP R (NOW WITH POSSIBLE SPOILERS)
i have been reading reviews that it sucked (18% tomatometer) and was beginning to think that i had been reading about the wrong movie after hearing what everyone has said, but moonbase2 re-confirmed my suspicions. and after being disappointed by "i am legend" and "walk hard" two weeks in a row, a hat trick would be downright depressing.
i'll just stick to the "solo" movies, thank you.

Maybe that's something else. These movies are doing too "well" for their own good. Are we ever going to see another Alien or Predator movie again? Or another Friday the 13th or Nightmare? Gah!

It's that bad and worse. And mind you, I usually love these types of movies. So I was looking forward to it. But they blew it. And the action? Pff. Half the time it was so dark and shaky that you really couldn't see much. Also, the movie suffered from overkill. I just became numb to it after a while. But besides little babies, mommies, and families dying, another disappointment was the Predalien himself. He's there, but I guess since he was more intelligent than the aliens, which threw themselves at Pred to die, he just hung back to make time for killing pregnant women. *sigh*

Yes, of course it bugged me. It was entirely unnecessary. It's like they were just trying to disgust the audience. Anyone who's ever had a baby (hell, anyone period!) should've wanted to vomit at the sight of it. When I said another character has to "develop" from a child's death for it to be included in a movie (to me at least), I meant emotionally. They could've written another way for the aliens to breed. The more I think about it the angrier I get.
