both movie versions. brawl is bigger and has much greater firepower, but barricade is much faster, more agile and skilled. hes also a small target. brawl was fairly slow in the movie allowing jazz to do some damage before he was able to effectively counter, and barricade seems like a slightly slower but much stronger version of jazz. brawl had trouble hitting ironhide, whos alot bigger and slower than barricade, and both of them were defeated, under questionable circumstances by bumblebee. who takes it?

My vote's with Barricade.

Brawl. Tanks are cooler and bigger.

Does barricade get frenzy? If he does he *might* win by surviving brawls initial attacks so frenzy can get in & cut brawls circuts..
If not, brawl wins

Brawl. Too much armor and firepower. He can take Barricade out with one shot, while Barricade would need a lot of time to do damage. In that time, Brawl would hit him a few times. And hand-to-hand combat is no contest.

Brawl and rather easily too. Look how much firepower it took to take Brawl down and all it took for Barricade was Bumblebee (not to dis the Bee at all).

I'm going to have to go with Brawl in this match up. Tanks have much heavier armor and firepower. My read on Barricade is that he's really not a big fighter--yeah, he and Bumblebee duke it out (and come on, even *Bumblebee* stomps him) but he's more of an intelligence gatherer than an asskicker.

HK, Barricade's still *cooler*, though.

Yeah, only because he has *some* character development through interacting with Frenzy and Sam. Brawl is just a jacked-up drone. Barricade is a Mustang, but if I had a choice, I'd take a tank for a vehicle over a Mustang any day.

I used to fantasize about mounting a Mark 19 grenade launcher on the roof of my car. (Unfortunately, the car at the time was a Dodge Peon). Figured I'd go for the best of both worlds.

Actual thread-related content: the only advantage Barricade would have would be speed. Top speed of an M1 Abrams, if memory serves, is 60 mph. So he could at least run away.

Yeah, since I have gotten my Camaro I've been thinking "would twin .50 cal machine guns look good?" I've been kinda obsessed with this since I saw Death Race.

I fully agree with Hellkitty. While Barricade is cool, (as I hope he returns in TF 3.) Brawl just too tough for him to take down. barricade probably beats brawl in spades in terms of intelligence and speed. But that alone isn't enough win this fight.

I'd venture guess Ironhide, Prime, Megatron, Starscream and Blackout all could take down Brawl. But not Barricade.

Quite mildly, I must disagree. I would usually agree that Brawl would win, but there are several things that point againts him.

1) Barricade is referred to as a serious fighter in both 'Ghosts of Yesterday' and 'The Veiled Threat.' Shoot, in 'Veiled Threat,' Prime has trouble taking Barricade down. And I think everyone's forgetting that Barricade's hand becomes a saw.

2) Sure, Brawl is a tank, but Barricade is faster. And in battle, as a military soldier, what would you be shooting at, a police car, or a tank? This is theoretical, now. If there were US Army soldiers around, Brawl's toast. If they're alone, Brawl's got a better chance.

3) Is Barricade using Frenzy? Seriously, that little creep could turn the tide of wars.

4) Brawl can't remember his name.

So, there you have it. Now, for Brawl's strong points.

1) He's a tank.

2) He has guns and knives.

3) He is a tank that has guns and knives.

4) It took Ratchet, Ironhide, US Army, Jazz, and Bumblebee to take him down.

I have no idea how much of a badass Barricade is in fics, because I projectile vomited halfway through the crapfest that is Ghosts of Yesterday and any love I'd had for AD Foster burned away with my fangirly rage. I avoided the Veiled Threat as assiduously as I would avoid a puddle of beervomit.

But, strictly going movie-canon, which is all I can actually speak to, (well, and the video game), I repeat: BUMBLEBEE BEAT THE LIVING CRAP OUT OF BARRICADE. You tell me a Camaro can take out 'Cade but a tank can't? QUOI?!?!

And, yeah, his hand becomes a saw. That's great if we're in lumberjack land. If Brawl's a tank, you know how long it's going to take to have a rather wimpily-toothed saw eat through that armor plating? The world may never know, because to try it, Cade would have to get close in. And tanks can rotate their main gun 360. Equalling dead Cade.

It hurts me to say it, because you know, NR, I LOVE Barricade. In ways that are illegal in most religions. But...he'd get stomped.

Not really Hellkitty's points clearly dismantle anything you tried add. Bumble bee solo smashed Barricade; Brawl took on 4 different autobots and several soldiers before he died. I dont see how theres much comparsion.

Frenzy..again even if he were involved, Miekla defeated him, Brawl would just squish him. They re a great duo for inflitrating and gathering information, but fighting isnt their strong point. Frenzy is the hardest working decepticon, as he singlehanded did 90% of the work himself. Their cause would been horribly lost if frenzy died before they got to earth. I respect his abilities, just not as a threat to the juggernaut of the movie universe.

Ah, that's quite true. And, you're right, Barricade'd get the snot stomped out o' him.

Tank > Car.

It's really that easy. Barricade has no offensive weapons other then melee weapons and no offensive capabilities in car mode other then ramming things. Whereas Brawl is heavily armed and heavily armored. Barricade wouldn't last too long in a fight against Brawl. One is a spy and the other is a warrior.

I would love to see a fight that showed Barricade winning this fight convincingly because I just don't see how the hell this could happen. Brawl would win easily. No contest!

The only way for Barricade to win is by guerilla tactics. He could lure Brawl into a pit trap and kill him there but Brawl is tough and could climb or dig his way out. As in the Russia/Ukraine war, Barricade could use land mines. A big one could be effective. If Barricade could drop a few thousand tonnes of metal on Brawl, that should pin him down for a while. Whatever happens, this will be a long struggle.

I'm guessing that Barricade would fall victim to one of Brawl's guided missiles and then it's all over. Brawl wins, probably.
