Hi Everyone

I'm a little bit new here, so I don't really know any of you yet, but having seen this on the news, I thought maybe given how much Japan has had an influence on the field of Action Figures over the years, that we as a fan community might have a unique connection to this tragedy and an opportunity to help.

I've been posting on a few of the different toy forums to see if anyone might be interested in helping out. I think there are enough of us in the Action Figure community that we could put together a successful relief fundraiser. I am a professional auctioneer and have been involved in a lot of benefit auctions so I would be happy to donate my services to put together and run the auction side of things.

What I am looking for is for someone to handle the charity end of things.
There is a guide to choosing a charitable organization at http://swmo.bbb.org/article/donor-alert ... tims-25969. If, as a community, we can come up with what which organization we would like to contribute to that would offer the most help, I would be glad to get the ball rolling on organzing a benefit fundraising auction.

That way, everyone has something to offer to the cause, whether it's extra toys, customs, artwork, old designs and sketches, or money of course. That way, no one gets left out and everyone has a chance to contribute, even if it's just in a small way.

Please let me know what you all think, and who we would like to work with, and I will be glad to get started on making this a success. You can reply, send me a pm, or email me. I think if we all work together, we can really make a difference here.

I didn't even realize this had been moved, as we've been pretty busy here lately working with a really great organization called Convoy of Hope to get this under way.

We'll be sending out information shortly, but this should be pretty big, and I think we're going to help a lot of people. I'll send you some information first to look over, though before we make the big announcement.

Okay, Folks!

This is it! We've been working hard with good people at ConvoyofHope.org to get this up and running, and now we can announce that it is here!

We've sent out the first wave of Press Releases, so you may have seen the news, or will be seeing it shortly, but our "Heroes Give Hope" fundraiser auction is now Live.

We had a lot of Positive response in the past few weeks through emails and at shows like JoeCon, and are adding all of the wonderful items many of you have already donated to the catalog just as quickly as we can.

One of our first batch of items was given to us by Dan Khanna, best known for his work with IDW and on a number of Transformers Club and Botcon related projects. Dan was generous enough to take time out of his busy schedule, including an appearance at this weeks NJCC to provide us with a number of his prints as well as the pencil art for an all-new piece. We won't let the cat out of the bag yet, but to give you a hint, this brand new piece will be in conjunction with this year's Hall of Fame. What can it be? You'll just have to check the catalog this week as we add it and some other great surprises!

We encourage you all to stop by and check out this great cause. One Hundred Percent of the Hammer Pirce will go directly to Convoy of Hope for their continuing relief efforts in bringing food, disaster aid, and hope to the region. This is your chance to pick up some fantastic items while helping out an even more fantastic cause.

Ok! We are excited to finally let the cat out of the bag on this one!

We can officially reveal the fantastic piece we've received from none other than Transformers Artist extraordinaire Dan Khanna. To coincide with his induction into the Hasbro Transformers Hall of fame, Dan has graciously provided us with his version of G1 Ratchet!


Dan will be making prints of this available at Botcon in a few weeks, but this is your one and only chance to get hold of the one-of-a-kind original pencils, while aiding in Convoy of Hope's disaster relief effort!

We encourage you all to check this out as it is a truly remarkable piece you won't want to miss, and a great way to help out. We have more items on the way, so check back often, as this is already shaping up to be a terrific event!

A big update to our Heroes Give Hope Charity Event to let you know about. Toy Customizers, Artists, and Manufacturers have been sending us some fantastic pieces in a pretty steady stream all this past week in support of Convoy of Hope's continuing efforts to provide disaster relief in areas like Japan, Haiti, and those areas affected by teh Joplin Tornadoes.

We wanted to share some of these fantastic pieces here with you to let you check them out and help out in our relief efforts.

First up, is a great Indiana Jones diorama set donated by Hemble Creations. It featres Indy as he tries to escape a Mayan Temple



Second, we have a great exclusive Print and one of the highlights of the event. This exclusive Print, donated by Dave Williams, features minimalist versions of all your favorite heroes joining together to provide hope to Japan. It is numbered 1/1 and will never be reprinted again.



We want to thank everyone who has been a part of this with us. We will be updating throughout the week, and in the meantime, you can check it out yourself.

We wanted to keep things kind of quiet until after most of the SDCC News had died down, but here's an update on some of the awesome pieces that have been coming in for our Heroes Give Hope Charity Auction to benefit Convoy of Hope in their disaster relief efforts around the globe.

First up, we have This one of a kind piece by UK designer and Dreamave artist Matt Kuphaldt. Matt has run with the "Convoy of Hope" theme to create his very own Star Convoy of hope artwork. This awesome piece was created specifically for the Heroes Give Hope Charity Auction and is numbered 1/1.



Our next piece up is another great Custom toy created by John Spangler. If you like Hot Wheels and/or the Back to the Future series, this is a great piece for your collection. You may remember John from his outstanding Project:Steelskin and Project:Redline transformers customs. This time, he's back with this custom molded and hand-painted Marty's Truck from the BTTF III Movie.



John's work has become very sought after, and he is making this limited edition piece marked #5/15 available only to bidders of the Heroes Give Hope Charity Auction.

There's still plenty of time to check everything out and give your support to Convoy of Hope as they continue in their efforts to bring Food, Supplies and Relief to areas around the world affected by natural disasters. We will be holding the Live Auction Event on Sunday, August 21st, beginning at 3:00 PM EDT, but you can check out the catalog right now to inspect the items creators have already donated, and leave pre-bids.

A few quick updates on our charity auction as as we get closer to the Live-Auction Date.

The good folks over at Suckadelic have been kind enough to offer up one of their long sold out Pestro bootlegs. If you are a fan of GI Joe or little people, you certainly don't want to miss out on this piece.

Next up we have a custom Beast figure designed in the style of the X-Men: First Class Movie. It was created and donated to us by John Harmon of Mint Condition Customs. It features hand sculpting and painting and is fully poseable.

Because of your support, we were able to raise nearly $1000.00 for Convoy of Hope to go towards their disaster relief efforts.

The talent of our donors and the generosity of our bidders will allow Convoy to provide food, aid, and outreach in areas around the world affected by disasters. We are very proud to have been given the opportunity to be a part of this, and I want to thank everyone for making this event possible.

We're already gearing up for our next big charity auction for the Wounded Warrior's project and we have plans for another Convoy of Hope event this Spring. With your help, we know we can make these events even bigger and raise even more money for some worthy causes!
