Just read Blackest Night #3. I must say for those of you weary of the whole white lantern story there may be a cause to be concerned. By the way, the Indigo Tribe is bad ass.

BN#3 brought back the scare value for me.

That scene between Firestorm and Gen, yeah, very well done, had me worried and they actually went through with it.

I can see it coming down to Hal becoming the one and only White Lantern, but at least we now have more understanding of how all the colours will come together.

Indeedy, and I'm (surprisingly?) still a bit scared for Prof. Stein, although they already HAVE at least finally verified that he survived the events of Countdown.

I finally got around to reading Blackest Night Superman #2. I dont think it added much of anything to the story.

I thought quite the opposite actually. Psycho Pirate's now throwing his talents around, Superman is now going to have to fight off Superboy as well as Superman-2, while leaving Psycho more or less unchecked.

Sadly the New Krypton side of the story seems to offer nothing. I don't know why they put it in.

I just read the newest Green Lantern and am happy with the way things unfolded so far. I have gone back and read Rebirth, Secret Origins, No Fear, Sinestro Corp Wars, and Red Rage and working my way to Agent Orange and Sin of the Star Saphires. I like seeing how Johns has plannet a lot of these seeds way back in Rebirth.

By the way I love how Sinestro took on Mongul.

This week's ...

GL Corps - meh, didn't really do too much. Highlight was seeing Killowog go nuts.

BL:Batman - Not quite sure what this mini-series was suppose to achieve other than to maybe point out that not only do Black Lanterns like to eat hearts, if they can't detect them then they just leave?

Probably the best part of the week is through all the DC Nation page through all the DC books talking about January when Blackest Night takes a month off, and is filled in with a number of now cancelled titles getting a one-shot rebirth.

And as I expected ... the original Question is going to be back.

Green Lantern 47 just continues the "bring the different lights together" quest.

Blackest Night 4 is a little slow until the last few pages. One more heart ripped out and the end has left me wanting more now!

I think the point is that regardless of the charade the rings portray when they take over their hosts, and their ability to access the powers and memories of the hosts, that they are only able to act if emotions are present. When the emotions of Dick and Tim were blocked from them, they no longer saw a reason to stay.

when I first saw the page showing that we were getting a special issue of Starman, I fully admit I geeked out a bit. I loved that run, brilliant stories and mostly the art was above par.

Dude, the spoiler warning is in the title.

It's okay to announce that he's dead. Of course he's dead. It's also not very surprising that he's dead, he's going to be reborn as the White Lantern once he's had his stint as a Black Lantern. He's pretty much worn all the colours now.

Wow. I was given one of the black promo rings and so checked this thread out, and this sounds brilliant. Can you guys recommend a good jumping on point for this series, and any others involved, if there is one? (or is it best to wait for the TPBs?)

This is the first time I've been tempted to buy DC since Death of Superman and this sounds infinitely better.

I'd lean towards the TPB's. But as for a starting point? Well you could get technical and say you have to go back a few years. Otherwise you could just jump in with the Preludes in GL and GLC.

As far as tie-ins go, there's been the monthly series and little mini-series, these probably don't do too much for the on-going storyline but they're still good reads. The main stuff naturally goes down in Green Lantern, Green Lantern Corps and Blackest Night.

I'm reading BN #5 and thinking "oh hell, they finally did it, they brought Bruce back". But that was nothing to Nekron just retaking the lives of Diana, Supes, Connor, Buddy, Tora and Oliver and making them Black Lanterns.

This series is FREAKING AWESOME!

So it looks like the strongest members of each of the Corps (Hal Jordan=Green/Willpower, Sinestro=Yellow/Fear, Carol Ferris=Violet/Love, Indigo-1=Indigo/Compassion, St. Walker=Blue/Hope, Atrocitus=Red/Rage, and Larfleeze=Orange/Greed) will have to join together and recreate the white light in order to defeat Nekron and the Black Lanterns. I think New Earth will end and the DCU will be recreated anew. And then we will have "The Brightest Day".

While I feel the white will be the defeat of the black, I don't see it happening with another reboot. If they were going that route the cross-over would be called "Crisis of the Blackest Night".

Anyone else follow LEGION or REBELS, that just thought oh S#I! when Dox was given a yellow ring? Brilliantly done.

If red = :BOT:

and red = Rage but Purple/Indigo = :CON:

and Purple/Indigo = Compassion then maybe Shattered Glass has been right all along????

yes, you said that.

But usually when DC does that they stick Crisis in the title. The event while wide in scope and will no doubt leave major changes to the DC multiverses (seeing superboy-prime and Alexander Luthor at the very least are involved) we have yet to see any major shaking of the timestream and/or cataclysmic level events that would require a reboot. If anything the roles of Order and Chaos will come into play (Take note of the Titans substory where the Doves are untouchable to the Black Lanterns) and while the Light will defeat the Nekron and his undead army, Chaos will demand that to keep the balance in nature that the black can not be truly eliminated for without black there would be no need for colours at all.
