Hey Ryan, I found the same camera for $40 cheaper on newegg.com. Here's a link: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6830179057
You did what? You opened it? You stupid moron, you idiot Frank. What's the matter with you? Haven't I always told you to never even go near those blankety-blank tanks?

Surely the galleries should pay for themselves?
Sorry Ryan but I had to say something.

That's too bad that you feel that way, AK, but I understand your concerns. I generally have never asked for donations to the site because I have always paid for the servers and my Seibertron.com related trips out of the revenue generated from the site. This was an unplanned expense that occurred after a very expensive weekend in New York to provide the fans with galleries from Toy Fair and a news report about the Movie Preview. I think it's very kind that so many people have offered to help. My promise to all of you is that I will continue making kick ass galleries as soon as possible thanks to their support and will continue to provide galleries of some of the figures that I've been getting a lot of requests for. The donations are purely voluntary and are truly appreciated.

Pitty for the loss of the camera, I do enjoy all of the galleries. I don't have a paypal account, had issues with the service a while back and closed mine down. Best of luck.
It has begun, let the parts fall from the sky.

Fair enough, I see where you're coming from. I still don't agree with you asking for the money from the users of the site, but more fool them if they chose to dotate.

I have to admit, I have my reservations about this exercise, however I see no hard sell or aggressive, pushy behaviour here so I wish you the best of luck, Ryan.

I see where Alex Kingdom is coming from, but I know times are horrid and out of our control sometimes. I threw 30$ your way Seibertron.
By the way, I love Sony too, but I found this carmera is awsome and cheaper. It's on sale on Amazon. I have it, once you get the many things it does, it's handy.

I don't have much cash, but I usually list lots of things on ebay. I tell you what. I'll list a Takara exclusive TF toy, and donate the procedes after it sells. Good luck with the camera.

Thats cold, he isn't asking for him, he's doing this for US!
I'm in advertising photography, and especialy with display items, that screen is priceless. One small nudge to the camera looking into the veiwfinder can ruin a shot that took forever to set up and light even if your using a tripod.
If you can't help, thats fine, I wish I could do more myself, but this is the Man's art that he shares with us for nothing, he knows what tools he needs.
Dude take a pill. I wasn't trying to be a jerk or anything, just wanted to know if there was other options until he could buy another one. Given the pictures he took, yeah something is definitely messed up with the inside mechanisms. No point in getting it repaired either. Just go and get a FujiFilm SLR camera. Those are sweet.
Hey no offense taken. I'm sure there's something I can do with the old camera but for the sake of time and money, I'd rather just move on and get a new camera so that we don't miss a beat. I'm on a business trip right now in Michigan so I can't do anything with the new galleries for the site until I get back to Chicago on Friday. When I get back to Chicago, I'll buy a new camera on Friday or Saturday. I think we'll be able to come up with the resources by then.
Man, I'm sorry, I just got alittle upset there. I know what it's like to work hard for people for next to nothing and have them bear down on you because your equipment crapped out.
Not for nothing this site is like an online home for me. I visit it more than the sites I work for, and to keep my home in great shape, I wanna do what it takes.
Ryan may be in control here, but it's our site! It's up to us to keep it strong. Think about it folks, for the same price of a crappy set of mini-cons, you can help keep this site rolling, and get more enjoyment out of it then you would after you changed thosse cheap things once and lost the thrill!
On that note, I got a raise today

I have no official ties to Hasbro. At least, not that I know of. I just run a fan website.

That's not quite what I meant. Quite some time ago, we tried to give you donations for HMW, but it was you that stated you could not take donations as it would be some type of infringement with Hasbro, IIRC.

I never said that. There's a donation button at the bottom of every page. What I most likely did say was that I couldn't charge a membership fee for people on the site. There's a big difference between accepting donations and charging membership fees. The donation button has been on the site for about 2 years now.

You're right, I never scroll that far down so had forgotten about it. This whole exercise seems less obscure (for lack of a better word) to me now. Apologies, Ryan.
