Can the Haters Please Just Stick to One Thread?

I wonder... Why the isolationism ? Why does it hurt your eyes to see people criticize this movie ? Why do you not want to see it ?
Are you afraid that the "haters" might have a point ?

I don't think they are afraid that they have a point. I think it's the whole "if you enjoyed the movie, you're not a true fan" that gets them.

But can't you keep all these posts in one thread, they seem to be popping up faster than weeds in my lawn.
I find this too generalised. Not everyone who dislikes it feels their childhood was ruined nor would they consider themselves more fan than the next fan.

"We, Decepticons, are a swell bunch. And boy do we have fun." - Starscream
"You're one of...those, Never understood why any self respecting Decepticon would choose auto-mobile as his vehicle mode when he could have flight." - Starscream

I wonder the same thing about why the "haters" have to come into so many movie threads and derail them with "movie sucks" type comments. Not constructive negative opinions. I mean, just "Why do you people like this? True fans don't!" kinda stuff.
To cite an example, I thought Spiderman 3 was terrible, and I'm a huge fan of Spidey. I think Spiderman 3 wasted a lot of tremendous opportunities. But I'm not going onto a Spiderman message board in threads talking about how awesome Venom was and saying they ruined the character. I don't really get the motivation on that.
So, here's a question to stir some more measured debate on the topic. We've seen the "It's not supposed to be G1"/"We didn't EXPECT G1" merri-go-round by now. So, to you folks that didn't like the direction of the film, what were you hoping for? Did you have a particular creative team in mind, or just a certain take on the story? Different characters? I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts.

Ah, let 'em go. There's nothing they can do but bitch now anyway. Movie's here, makin' cash, being all successful like, and all they can do is whine. And yes, that's what it is when the same three people crash ten different threads that talk about different things in the movie just to slam it, then get all offended and defensive-like with the whole "It's my opinion, so I'll flame and destroy threads and you can't stop, cuz it's my opinion" when they're told to stop. I just laugh now, cuz I picture them screamin' at a wall til they're blue in the face. Just don't give them the satisfaction of taking their bate, they'll back off when they stop getting the attention.
Funny side note to this, I was in the theater last night(which was packed, so much for tanking), and a whole lotta fans were there. A group was leaving as I was, and one of them piped up "It wasn't G1, so it sucked". His friends, all of which were TF fans, laughed at him and told him to shut up, cuz it wasn't G1. My brother and just laughed. Funny stuff.

Most people who complain don't even say that.
Same here.
I don't think anyone posting here is or isn't a "true" fan.
I don't care that Optimus had flames or a long nose.
Or Bumblebee was a Camaro.
Or Jazz was silver.
Or Ironhide was black (Diaclone!)
Or pretty much anything that can be said of the Autobots.
ALL I'm saying is the movie was poorly written and nothing at all special, had too many people in it, had plot complications, and just about everything about the decepticons was a pile of ass.
Are people even complaining about who is or isn't a true fan?
How is there even time to complain about something non-substantive like that?

Someone did make that claim, but don't worry, it wasn't paired with well reasoned arguments so you'll only get tarred with the same brush by ignorant people. And the opinions of the ignorant are lacking in merit. Which is why I ignore any 'I haven't seen this movie but I know it will be crap' because willful ignorance is completely backwards when trying to construct an argument. 'Don't mock it till you tried it' that's my motto!

I find it hilarious that now the "haters", who initially hated the look, are now complaining about the substance, and the "lovers" are saying that the style of the movie was enough to overcome the lack of substance.
some people appreciate a well writen story, others have no problem with a weak nonsensical story and next to zero character development.
did we really need to see that australian chick go to the fat black guy's house? they could have take that whole scene out and given us some character development, but nooooo....
bay has to make room for a "funny colored person" right?
thinking about it, I am offended as an african american, but the presense of tyrese in a strong role balanced that out for me.
point is, some people hated beastwars too, but what is the difference?
beastwars had one of the most well writen stories in the history of transformers.
this whole bad writing thing does not surprise me. Bay regards the original cartoon with disdane, saying it was a stupid toy advertisement. maybe the plot from g1 was too complex for mr. armegeddon to understand.

I do not wish to be stereotyped into one group or another, but I did, still do, and will always not enjoy what they have done to the designs of Megs and SS.
