I was lookin at the botcon exclusive and well honestly im not a fan. Springer to me was always a triple changer and pretty much the only part i like is the head so im tryin to plan out my first scratch build i have most of him planned out but im still unsure about the arms. Im tryin to go for the g1 look but was fold infront of the chest if i could id like to hide them a little better any suggestions?
all comment welcome

Get energon bulkhead and repaint him. All he needs is is beard shaved off and the visor taken off, Then you paint it springer colors.

But then you'd still need to come up with a ground alt-mode. If you notice, he said he wanted a Triple Changer, and without a ton of modding, good luck turning Bulkhead into a car.
In some respects, I'm inclined to agree with Ptitvite. Quite a lot of G1 figs can look right up to date just by articulating them (just look at his Sludge mod for an example of that). You could add joints to hinge the shoulder housings, head and legs, and it'd look a ton better. And it'd be a lot easier than scratchbuilding, unless you're really set on it.

I was looking over my universe whirl after seeing the botcon Springer. I thought the robot mode looked cool but I would of prefered to have a helicopter mode. I was thinking that it might be possible to work with modding wheels to whirl and modding the transformation a little. I decided not to mess with it because I have too many incomplete projects as it is.

If you do use G1, I suggest finding another head. G1 springers head always looked fugly to me. and after you add articulation I think thats the one piece that would look very out of place.
till all are one.
