I just realized something. Victorion will be the largest female Transformers figure ever made.

Heck, even Pyra Magna on her own is the first female transformer larger than a deluxe since Binaltech Arcee in 2008, and the first Hasbro's released since Transmetal 2 Blackarachnia way back in 1999.

Kinda sucks yes, but I for one am happy with it. It's kinda a cool tribute to combiners

But they didn't.

They told us up front that those five new Fembots were unrelated to Victorion. Anyone who jumped to the conclusion that the were the new Fembot combiner team who formed Victorion has no one to blame but themselves for jumping to said conclusion.

Also the events of MTMTE are only tangentially related to those of combiner wars. To this effect the events of those two issues takes place a little before combiner wars, as first aid and the protectobots left on MTMTE issue 43, and arrive on cybertron in issue The Transformers #40. Because of the story interlude and disconnect between MTMTE and combiner wars it can be assumed that the girls aboard the Vis Vitalis had been planned by roberts to appear in the MTMTE and not combiner wars.

I really like the sword. Personally, I like fembots with feminine features. I might pass on this one.

I'm actually warming up to it. I just dont know about the Christmas colors though. We definatlty need more decepticon combiner limbs.

Supposedly at the same time as the G2 Superion and Menasor boxsets, which I think is christmas(ish) time

Hotspot is quite plain out of the box - the Japanese version fixes some of that and looks a lot better as a result.

I'd be tempted to add some silver or white to the toys in a few places to break the colours up a bit more also to emphasise feminine traits if possible too.

As I've noted elsewhere-

So these are re-paints and re-molds right? Did they only get new head-sculpts, or are there other differences? Did even little Groove get a new face?

The new Victorion hands and feet look interesting, as does the gestalt head and the combining sword, but those new features aren't enough to sway me. It's not speaking "fem-bot" enough to me I guess, and the color-scheme, though unified, is somewhat obnoxious.

And Hasbro claims that we fans created this? Hmm...That makes me wonder if that is the best we fans could agree upon, or if the whole "voting" thing was a gimmick and a sales stunt. That seems likely to me, but why bother, when other already existing & yet-to-be-updated gestalt teams were available?

If Hasbro was desperate for a familiar, strong female character, why not complete the Generations Fem-bot team with MoonRacer, FireStar, Elita-1, etc., or better yet, make us an MP Arcee? Saving money by re-tooling existing CW figures was their aim, but the result is a bit disappointing.

Still, it is good to have choices, and the box looks nice, but I wonder what Takara can make of these. Takara's been full of surprises with their Deluxe Groove and Blast-Off lately, so I'll hold out hope for at least a better colored Victorion later on. Now, bring on Computron and as many other gestalt-teams as possible!

I do like the new heads on some of them, especially the voyager mold (forgot the name).

Ah yes... stock photography for the win. Those mis-transformed arms on Victorion is classic.
