Hellooooooo FansProject, stop fannying around with these generics AND GIVE US SOME DAMN PROTECTOBOTS ALREADY. Sheesh, why does everyone ignore the Protectobots? That TFC abomination doesnt come close.

Off topic: One of the issues I see with the Protectobots is the recognizable vehicles and scale differences. With Bruticus, Superion, and Devastator, we can hide issues of scale well in the vehicles. (Though there is that hilarious pic of a true scale Bruticus.) With the Protectobots we have a rescue helecopter, ambulance, and police motorcycle all roughly the same size. I wonder if this is the reason we haven't seen anything yet.
On topic, if this is scout to legends scale, and the bots look cool, I might be interested. I really like FP offerings, and I will definitely keep an eye on this. It's about guaranteed to have no competition.

In speaking with an MMC rep a while back, he mentioned that they have something in the design process, but it will take some time to come to fruition, if it happens at all.

I think they are cute and cause waves of nostalgia to overtake me. If the price point is low enough...

They're meant to stand with a G1 collection, not a classics collection.
Not my thing really.

I... agree here. These look pretty bad.
Not caring about scale since 1984. Just like Hasbro.

Certainly not my thing, but I could see some avid G1 collectors going for them.

Re: FansProject Glacialbots
Dunno if I'd label them "bad." They seem to do exactly what they set out to do - create a G1 style combiner.
Of course I don't really WANT that. Nostalgia aside, the G1s don't really appeal to me.

the reviews make me really like these guys. I don't see myself getting them, but I appreciate the work put into them. They definitely do exactly what they set out to in creating a "lost" G1 combiner, but there's a lot of nice little modern flourishes as well.
assembling a Neo-G1/TF:TM cast. Please PM if you have (or know of) the following at a reasonable price: Classics or Henkei Astrotrain, Sunstreaker, Sideswipe, or 3rd Party iGear Ratchet and Ironhide.

I am more than pleased with the Glacialbots. The price, the aesthetic, the transformation, the Headmaster gimmick, THE PACKAGING.

Just finished watching the reviews. Gotta say, FP has impressed me here. Didn't expect the Master gimmick going on. It could have easily just been left out.
But ... it still isn't what I collect. Hope they do well for FP, though.

I guess my G1 aesthetic-appreciation bone just isn't as strong as others here. The review by Vangelus is nice and helps me appreciate this offering a little more... but only a slight bit. I'm still disappointed and expected something more modern.
As such, I won't be investing in this particular product, which is music to the ears of my wallet, but I can't help but wonder how cool this project could have been if it were more modern.
Oh well...

I'm not a G1 collector myself. It's impressive how they got it designed and will also work with the scramble city G1 combiners. I have other figures in my 'to-get' list and if I have some extra money, I might get this set as well. Assuming the price doesn't change that much.

I could see these doing well in Japan. Those kids and collectors still buy into stuff like Super Sentai (Power Rangers) and such which haven't been 'modernized' all that much and are pretty much still just big ol' bricks but they sell like hotcakes (much better than Transformers do, which is why Takara doesn't play stingy with the paint apps
).

I have to admit it I'm not a G1 collector and started to collect TFs seriously with the Classics line... but I love the whole concept of this project by FP as this is a fresh idea. At least we're getting new characters and not the same characters recycled over and over again.
The figures remind me of the brainmasters from Transformers Victory.
I hope that if these do well... Fansproject will work to make a more modern take of these characters.

Looks fun if I was back in the 80's. Would be cooler if they modernize these down the road.
