I've not had any scary moments with either of mine. As said the instructions are terrible, but that's been my only downer with this set so far.
I love the complicated transformation, but it was scary as hell transforming them the first time around because everything was so tight/stiff on both. Once you get familiar with him it's a lot less stressful. I've had no QC problems on either of mine. I'm 100% happy

BTW did anyone get a replacement part for the gun? Ive an extra piece (came taped to the box) that all the bits store on to the back doors. The handle on the replacement is more sturdy than the one in the box that was a little lose/floppy.

Glad you guys have been able to transform him without an major issues!

If the info BBTS has on Diesel and Warden are correct I'll be shipping my loot within the next week and will have it a week after that.

It seems there were some issues with the part that attaches to the back of Diesel's trailer and that is a replacement some have gotten and some haven't.

gahh! with warden releasing on the 23rd i may have to push my shipping back a day! DAMN. I think i'll use this time to get the stunticons back into vehicle mode :[

I got the replacement piece. I have my own theory on why some are getting it. Here are a couple pics I took:




In-hand, they are essentially identical. There is only one major difference I could see (any other differences you see are on account of lighting and amateur photography). In the first picture, you see those two, uneven tabs coming out of the bottom of each piece? Those tabs connect the gun to the back of the trailer in vehicle mode. Now, in the second picture, see how the rightward tab on the bottom piece looks white on the end? That's the original - in-hand, it looks like like the tab is either broken or was manually shortened with an exacto knife. The one on the top is the replacement, and looks cleanly molded.

When I opened Diesel up and began to transform him, the very first thing you do is take off the gun piece from the back of the trailer. And the very first thing I noticed when I did that very first step was the 'damaged' tab. Just from detaching the gun from the trailer, you would think the tabs to plug it in should be of equal length. I thought mine was damaged out of the box, and I was mighty pissed.

Then, I saw the replacement, which has the short tab molded that way, and I figured it must have been intentional. Only once he was combined in gestalt mode did I see why they may have done what they did.

When you plug the gun into the lower arm, the cavity that holds the gun is sloping - that's the area where Last Chance's back windshield is. If the tabs were the same length, the one that's shortened would not fit well into that cavity due to that slope, and would pop up slightly.

They must have realized this late in the game, and fixed the issue manually. I suspect they then did a simple remold, and a new run of the part to include for some retailers because they knew people (i.e., me) would think the original piece was broken, or demand a new one due to the poor cosmetics. Who knows? Maybe that's why he got delayed from December to January.

Those whose Diesel doesn't come with the extra/replacement piece, see if the piece in the box looks like that short tab was cut manually, or if it looks molded.

In addition to the novel I wrote above, I just noticed this as well. The replacement (with the molded short tab) does fit better into M3's hand. Or rather, it fits at all. My M3 can't even hold the original piece he comes with :/

I'm just hoping this thing starts processing soon at bbts...

Yeah Warbotron is so replacing colossus after i put these on my book case i'm very happy with Menasors height , in my head having a huge war machine in this display is the only way to go .

Haha . So many figures have cog blocked me this year , i will get round to it .

I just don't like the figure any more , i mean he's roughly ultra class and he just not menacing enough for me to represent Bruticus.

I'm no good at taking pictures, but he is glorious.

The little black pieces Dragstrip's feet connect to have a little tab coming out. You'll notice also there's a little rivet in each of Dragstrip's hind wheels. The wheels' rivets are meant to align with the little black tab, and shift (just takes a little push) to lock into place. That should more or less solve your floppy hand issue.

My diessel is also being shipped from BBTS.

Thats a great quadro 3rd parties combiners group shot. It really makes TFC Superion look big & awesome in that pic. I suspose Superion should be the biggest combiner since hes composed of Five big military jets.

Got motormaster in my pile of loot. Im glad I got it for the "I trust FP" earlybird price of $119 instead of the "I gotta see a review first" price of $149, lol. But Im not looking foward to that crazy complex transformation. Cant wait till its done and on the shelf with as menasor. Im gonna hold out for mania king before I ship.

BBTS,Emailed me a few hours ago,regarding the replacement part. they got it from FP & They are shipping it out to me.

Here what BBTS said in the email they sent me hours ago. "Hello!
The purpose of this message is to inform you that FansProject notified us of a defective blaster accessory in this set. The figure includes a blaster with a handle portion that will not fit onto the figure's hand without a replacement handle. Therefore they sent us replacement parts as well to coincide with your figure, which we will be shipping out to you separately today at no additional charge."

Wow thats crazy. Looks like BBTS is taking a loss on these things just to furfill the preorders. Thats top notch customer service. I love BBTS. But im glad I found three of them in retail. I guess I can live without goldfire. Watch they end up in tj maxx

Dammit, BBTS. Get my stuff shipped out! I have a present in there for my daughter and I paid extra for Priority Mail so I'd have Saturday delivery! My order is quite small, I can't imagine it would take them more than 10 minutes to wrap it all up and throw it in a box.

I do grow tired of waiting. My patience isn't what it once was.

Except that HTS's shipping department is run by brain dead monkeys. Trust me having patience and waiting on a shipment from BBTS is worthwhile.
