Smash Bros. Melee was the main reason I had a Gamecube at all, so this bodes well. And since it'll be *after* Christmas (again), maybe Nintendo will have Wiis in stock finally next spring.

No, but since the Sega went under, Nintendo and Sega have been really close allies. (F-Zero GX, anyone?)

That's a bit of an overstatement. Sega's making games for all 3 systems, but yes, nintendo and sega have definitely warmed up to each other.

It's also slightly less of a surprise(but still really awsome) when considering that it's been known since a little before E3 that Sonic and Mario would be teaming up in an Olympic Games, uh, game.

And bad news, we gotta wait till February 10th to play as Nintendo and Co.:

Isn't Mario supposed to be taller than Sonic? He is a man after all, and Sonic is a hedgehog. And real life logic aside, I read somewhere that Sonic is like 4' and Mario is like 5' 2" or something.

And Pikachu could sit on Ash's shoulder in the anime', yet he's similar in size to Mario and Co. Oh, and Bowser's been portrayed as huge, yet isn't that much bigger than everyone else.

Scale has little to no meaning in Smash Bros, don't look to much into it. Just enjoy the pretty explosions .

As much of a fanboy I am of Protoman, Megaman has a better chance of getting in, according to the so-called Sakurai's Big List o' Characters That Might Get Into Brawl. In fact, Megaman is at thetop of the 3rd Party list.

Lol, you're either serious because you know nothing about advanced techs, or you know adv techs but just hate Ken. Look up other vids on youtube then. Chu Dat has some mean Ice Climbers, while M2K has a damn good fox. Don't forget Bombsoldier's Falco and Isai's Falcon.........

the pokemon trainer concept is pretty cool, but it seems redundant since you can already play as the pokemon themselves.

It's a nice touch that they're adding the pokemon trainer, but I hope they remove the seperately playable pokemon rather than Luigi and co.
I'd rather have Luigi etc than more pokemon.

From what I heard, Tom Nook is going to be a background character who heckles the players during the match.

I don't see much of a reason why they would boot character's who were in the previous two games. It just wouldn't make sense. They wouldn't want to alienate anyone in the fanbase by taking out a favorite character.

I haven't really been looking into Brawl, so have the Ice Climber's been shown? If they're back, then everyone's eles has gotta be back.

Yup, the Ice Climbers are back.

And for anyone who has not already located the site, please direct your attention to The Smash Bros. Dojo!!, which has all of the Brawl news first and updates every weekday.

Just got a chance to watch that movie.(I've been using my Wii to browse the forums as of late and it doesn't work well with most videos. Funny how Nintendos sites are not full compatible with their console). But wow, as soon as that song came on I knew what it was from. That really brought back memories. I used to love playing Sonic Adventure 2 on the GameCube. Especially fighting "the Ultimate Lifeform". And loved that song. My how things have changed. That is probably the best Sonic game, IMO. But you'd have to pay me to go back and play it. Still, it got me really excited.

Megaman(Original or X) has to be one of the other 3rd party characters. He's as much a classic character as Sonic and Mario. As the other 1, who knows. But I praying for Master Chief. How cool would it be to re-enact the Haloid video or that clip from Robot Chicken with the old-school Donkey Kong game where the Spartans kill DK and Mario and kidnap Peach? And how cool would it be if they re-created a 3D Halo map in 2D SSBB? The seawall of Zanzibar and the catwalks in Hang 'Em High come to mind. Or even spoofing another SSB map the Great Fox, but instead it's the Pillar of Autumn with Banshees flying by?
